The first playoff hole at the par-five

match birdies by Simsby and Dodt. On the
second extra hole, also played at the 18th,
Simsby got close to the green with his
second shot and played a superb chip which
stopped four feet from the flag. He nailed
the putt to claim the title, with Dodt having
missed his downhill 15-foot birdie attempt
earlier.

Simsby was thrilled to claim his career
biggest win yet in only his 12th start on the
Asian Tour and first this season.

“This is the biggest win I have had in my
career so far. It’s just amazing where I am
right now. I’m just ecstatic to win this,” said
an emotional Simsby, who hails from
Carlsbad in California.

The winner’s purse of US$180,000
moved Simsby up to second place on the
Asian Tour Order of Merit, while Australian

top-10 finish.

Simsby plied his trade on both the main

qualifying school. He finished 84th on the
2019 Asian Tour Order of Merit but a
seventh-place finish on the ADT rankings

As has become a fond, annual tradition at

with a boisterous dragon and lion dance

who made their return to the club on Sunday,

The troupe wowed everyone present with

from the ‘Gods’, carried out from the General

The Management of KPGCC joined in the

Everyone got to enjoy a scrumptious lunch during the
festivities, which also celebrated the birthdays of those born
in the first quarter of the year; fittingly lunch was followed by
lip-smacking desserts in the form of three birthday cakes –
celebrating life both young and old.
