MRCS SIBU BRANCH ANNUAL REPORT 2022 MRCS Sibu Branch @ 2022 All Rights Reserved MALAYSIAN RED CRESCENT SOCIETY SIBU BRANCH REPORT FOR 2022 COVID-19 RESPONSE a) BLOOD DONATION CAMPAIGN Starting 02.04.2020, MRCS Sibu Branch had corporate with Blood Bank Hospital Sibu for organized Blood Donation Campaign at Blood Donation Centre MRCS Sibu Branch, Public Library Sibu Jaya and Star Megamall (Orange Zone). MRCS Sibu Branch had successfully collected 2438 pints (1099 pints for the year 2020 and 1339 pints for the year 2021) at Blood Donation Centre, MRCS Sibu Branch, Public Library Sibu Jaya, Medan Hotel and Star Megamall. This year, MRCS Sibu Branch successfully organized 19 Blood Donation Campaign at MRCS Sibu Branch, 1 Blood Donation Campaign at Medan Hotel (Jalan Wong King Huo). Total pints collected are 1047. This year, 9 organizers from NGOs, Association, Religious Body, Government Department had corporate with MRCS Sibu Branch for organizing Blood Donation Campaign. Below are the jointly organizers:- 1. Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Sibu MRCS Sibu Branch hope that, next year more and more organizer can corporate with us for Blood Donation Campaign. b) COVID-19 VACCINATION PROGRAMME Starting 17/05/2021, MRCS Sibu Branch had assisted Sibu General Hospital and Sibu Division Health Department for COVID-19 Vaccination Programme. For year 2021, total service hoursis 455hours 30 minutes. For this year, total service hours is 45 hours. The main duty for our volunteers and staff are:- 1. ambulance standby, 4. assist the vaccinees to fill the consent form, 2. guide the vaccinees, 5. consult the vaccinee, 3. registration for vaccinees, 6. others non-medical work. In view of this situation, National Headquarters had cooperated with Nestlé (Malaysia) to distributed Maggie Goody Bag B40 family, OKU and single parent family from Sabah and Sarawak. Objective of the project:- 1. To alleviate living burden of needy families in Sarawak, Sabah and supporting them with essential goods; 2. To establish the principle of social solidarity and strengthening the bonds between these families and the society. MRCS Sibu Branch received a total of 489 cartoon Maggie Mee (216 cartoon Maggi Ayam, 216 cartoon Maggi Kari and 57 cartoon Maggi Cili Kampung) on 08/042022. MRCS Sibu Branch had distributed 1800 beg Maggi Product on 27/05/2022 and 28/05/2022 at Rejang Esplanade Sibu. Although MRCS Sibu Branch cannot give all food basket at Sibu Area, but we hope through this food basket ca alleviate the burden of some needy families. d) DISTRIBUTION SARAYA HAND SANITIZER MRCS Sibu Branch had received a total of 29700 bottles (1L), 4000 bottles (500ml) and 9800 bottles (100ml) Saraya Hand Sanitizer from MRCS Sarawak Chapter and Saraya company. The purpose for this project is Improve Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) practices and responding to overall pandemic preparedness. This year, we had distributed a total of 3134 bottles (1L) and 1966 bottles (100ml) Saraya Hand Sanitizer to 55 Primary School at Sibu District, 3 NGOs at Sibu District, 6 market and hawker centre, 2 Taman Selera, Night Market, Frist Aid Course Participants, Blood Donors who donated blood at MRCS Sibu Branch. Lee Yew Fong who has leveraged on networks to provide donated alcohol-based hand rubs (AHRB) to the Malaysian community via the Malaysian COVID-19 Coordination & Action Hub (MATCH) platform. MATCH collaborates on government initiatives but in itself is not a government programme or initiative. The scenario: On a usual working morning, a bus carrying 30 passengers with a driver skidded and collided with on coming petrol tank truck in front of the Sibu Indoor Stadium. On that morning, there was a sport carnival at Sibu Indoor Stadium, thus there was a crowd in front of the parking area. Total victims are 65 persons.
