Black Stories from Kingston and BeyondSeason Two of The TMI Project Story Hour, Black Stories Matter, centers stories from Blackcommunity members in Kingston and the surrounding area. These stories emerge from livedexperience—shaped by family, place, joy, struggle, humor, and resilience. For Black listeners, they offer recognition, affirmation, and resonance. Taking the TMI Project workshop, I felt atease with myself after sharing my personal story.”For the wider community, the stories invite deep listening and a greater understanding of thepeople and histories that shape Kingston. \"We read stories, articles, the news, books aboutracism, but nothing makes these issues real like people sharing their stories,” said audiencemember Amanada Sisenstein. “TMI Project helps me continue to learn and to be aware of andconfront my implicit biases.\"This Spring, TMI Project launches The Storytelling Club, an ongoing gathering space forpeople who want to listen deeply, write honestly, and share stories in community. Monthlyworkshops— in-person in Kingston, and online in both English and in Spanish– will offer guidedwriting, reflection, and opportunities to shape personal stories together.Join us.
