Creating a Sense of Identity
Year 9 pupils have been working
on a creative unit called “Identi-
ty”; learning about tone of voice
and generating resource material
through mood boards, investigat-
ing through observational draw-
ing and reconstruction, generating
ideas, and how to develop designs
to create bespoke outcomes and
artwork.
Teacher of Art and Design, Mr
Khalid Raza, commented “This is
great way of raising their visual
awareness of the world around
them, and how creative concepts
are realised in the real world.”
Mr Khalid Raza
Art Teacher
In Art this year, it has been very
different to previous years as we
are learning and understanding
new things. Our main focus so far
this half term in Year 9 has been
developing our abilities to create
and design our own logos depend-
ing on the situation and being
able to find accurate fonts and
coloring to portray a message we
are trying to give though the logo
depending on the mood- which led
us to create our own mood boards
which was really interesting. This
varies in different situations, but
can be very creative and unique or
plainly simplistic.

We have been working on mood
boards and what they are, we also
started talking about and learn-

Exploring the World with Year 1
Pupils of Year 1 have been learn-
ing about oceans and continents
in geography. In order to recap
the continents and oceans of the
world, they made balloon globes.
Children cut out the continents
from the printed worksheet and
then they coloured and labelled
them. During their virtual lesson,
children enjoyed making their
own globe, and had fun trying
to get the continents in the right
spots.
I am sure you will agree that they
look fabulous!
