UAP QC SAGA Chapter
History
In 2006, a group of active officers of the UAP Student Auxiliary
represented different schools all over the Philippines formed what
later on identified themselves as SAGA. It was composed of three
batches of student national and chapter officers during Fiscal Year
2006-2008 that passed over to another the leadership of the
organization.
After graduating, the group continued to grow the friendship and
served as the officers of UAP Graduate Auxiliary. As every Architect's
journey; the group took the professional board of examination,
individually joined the UAP organization in different chapters and
worked locally and abroad. The SAGA keeps on the connection and
comradeship as the members become its own community and
support system throughout the 14years of profession. At first, it was
just an idea in the mind to form the Chapter but now it will be
chartered through passion and motivation on what we wanted for
the advancement and reformation in the practice of architecture.
In June 2018, SAGA group was determined to push through which
began roundtable discussions on the what, why and how the group
would strengthen the architecture profession and foster
camaraderie among future breeds of architects.
In 2019, the group formally commenced the Application through the
support of UAP Quezon City Chapter led by Ar. Marian Eileen “Star” F.
Marudo, uap, piid, earoph as sponsoring chapter. Finally, the
chapter was endorsed on the 14th day of November 2020 by the
Regional District director of A3 and approved through the national
board of director resolution no.43 series FY 2020-2021.
UAP QC SAGA
Name Rationale
The chartering members are composed of
group of architects with history of 15 years of
friendship originating from being an active
officer of the UAP Student Auxiliary and UAP
Graduate Auxiliary – both in National and
Chapter Level from different schools. “Sa” as
coined from UAPSA and “Ga” as coined from
UAPGA, represents our training and root to UAP.
On the other hand, “Saga” as a word meaning
the narrative of achievements, stories and
events represent the long history since 2006 for
the chartering members that has naturally
evolved as a family becoming the foundation
of the group.
By formalizing into a UAP Chapter we continue
the SAGA on being members of UAP to share
this sense of family that will support each
members and future members to become the
Architect that the future needs.
Logo Rationale
The Logo is a geometric
representation showing 3 main
elements that also represents the
chapter’s vision and mission
Hexagon, a biophilic shape represents the natural
creation of SAGA chapter based on brotherhood.
Hexagon was used since ancient times to show
strength and minimal density while its equal sides can
be combined or attached to others that embodies our
multi-faceted industry and encourage collaboration to
the various industry experts both in the local and global
practice.
Cubes in Red that spells out SAGA, signifies the
creative thinking process that each one of us are
looking at the future of this chapter and the entire
organization in General to grow and lead with
boundless opportunities in adapting the ever-
changing needs of all Professionals in this Industry.
Bold Lines represent connecting to this generation's
brand of young architects and understanding their
roles in the diversity of the practice of architecture
with UAP at its core, thus, located at the center.
