COURSE DESCRIPTION
Study, practice calculation skills, and solve problems of positive integers, negative integers and zero,
comparison of integers, real numbers expressed in exponential notation with integer indices, numbers in
scientific notation.
(A 〖x10〗^n when 1≤ A<10 and n is integer) addition and subtraction, multiplication and division of
integers , problems related to integers , multiplication and division of the exponential numbers with the same
base and exponent that are integers that are integers Greatest Common Divisor (GCD) and Least Common
Divisor (LCM) and their application, application of knowledge and properties of integers , basic geometric
construction by using compass and a straight line, construction of two dimensional geometrical figure by using
basic geometric construction , searching for , observing and projecting the geometric properties , probability
of events , estimation probability of events , and appropriate use of mathematical and technological knowledge
, skills and processes for problem-solving in various situations.
Obtain knowledge and skills to calculate, to solve problems, to give reason, to communicate
mathematical interpretation, and to apply such knowledge and ability in learning things and daily life with
creative, discipline, responsibility, consideration, and confidence. Obtain ability to work systematically
together with awareness of values and positive attitude toward mathematics.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the end of this course students should be able to
1. Understand diverse methods of presenting numbers and their applications.
2. Understanding the results of operations of numbers, the relationships of operation and application of
operations for problem solving.
3. Understanding of numerical system and the application of numerical properties.
4. Have the ability to explain and analyze two-dimensional and three-dimensional geometric figures.
5. Use their ability in problem –solving, reasoning, communication and presentation of mathematical concept,
linking various bodies of mathematics knowledge and also linking mathematics with other disciplines and
attaining ability for creative thinking.
