About Me
My name is Kaitlyn Stancliffe. I was born and raised in Bakersfield, California. I am the

youngest child of four. I have two older sisters and one brother. My birthday is October 30, and
I am 20 years old. Some of my favorite things to do are hang out with friends, hiking, baking,
and art.
My Goals

My goal is to one day become a special education teacher. Ever since I was young, I have
wanted to be a teacher. I knew it would be a good fit for me.
Although I never knew I would want to do special education. I would love to teach children
every day and watch them learn and grow. I want a career where I feel like I am needed. I want
to help others in some
way. Becoming a teacher would allow me to accomplish those things.

Something that helped me choose this major is my brother and my old job. My brother
has autism, and I have seen it affect him in many different ways. I want to be
there to help those kids who struggle with disabilities. At my old job, I was a caretaker for a 28-
year-old woman who suffers from angelman syndrome. Working there impacted me and made
me want to pursue a career in special education.
My Philosophy of Education

I believe every child has the right to learn, and that they should be treated equally.
Every child is different and will learn differently because they struggle with different things. I
also believe that children need to learn in a fun and caring environment. I know that every child
has the potential to learn and accomplish great things. All they need is someone to be there for
them to motivate them so they can achieve great things. [301]

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to inform readers of blended technology. Technology is
becoming such a huge part of education. There is no avoiding it. It is important for teachers
adapt to this new teaching trend, because students already have. Students are already so
technological savvy and can use electronics better than most adults. But how much technology
should be allowed in the classroom? Teachers need to find the perfect balance for their
classrooms because each classroom is different. It is crucial that we still use the “old ways” of
teaching. Students need to learn the basics of reading, writing, science, and mathematics.
Teachers should not rely on technology to teach their students. If you are a good teacher, you
can still teach students regardless if you have technology in your class or not. Although
technology can be so helpful in students learning. Showing a video clip can sometimes be more
beneficial than you trying to explain it. Students can learn so much independently on a laptop
or computer doing research or playing educational games. Not to mention students love
technology. Most students are more willing to be more involved and interested in their work if
they can use technology. That is just how this generation works. With technology, students can
learn in a more hands-on way and can be more involved in their learning. Throughout this
article we will learn the benefits and downfalls of technology. This article will also cover how
important technology really is in the classroom. There always comes a point when you can have
too much of something, and we do not want that with technology in a classroom. Students
should not rely on technology and electronics to learn. Which is why this article will talk about
finding ways to have a blended classroom, incorporating old teaching styles with technology.
