LIQUID DROP
Photography
Water drop photography refers to the technique of photographing a single water droplet.
It’s an artistic type of photography and it finds many fans among stock and commercial
photographers. To save time and gain precision and control, many photographers choose
to create their own environment for water droplet photography in the studio, using lights
and dedicated tools. Nevertheless, water drop photographs can be taken in natural
conditions using rain, dew, and other natural water droplet sources.
Water drop photography requires patience, skill, and the right conditions. It’s also time-
consuming and requires post-processing; but the results are spectacular. Many
photographers go even further and use dye and different liquids to create a special mood
or effect. Water drop photography is fun if you enjoy the process.
How to create a water Droplet
The simplest way to photograph a water droplet is to create it yourself. You’ll need a
container with water and a dropper. Many people use a bowl, tray, or bucket for the
container; for dropping the water, you can use either a medical or cosmetic dropper.
Professional photographers focused on this type of photography use dedicated drip kits
and intervalometers to control the size of the water droplet and the time between drops.
Everything you use matters. The color of the container and the color and viscosity of the
liquid are important to the process. For better results, use a more viscous liquid. Some
people use milk, cola, or other drinks with higher viscosity. If you want to use water and
maintain its transparency, you can use ice cubes to keep it cold. You can also add some
drops of liquid soap, glycerin, sugar, or guar gum. Experiment and see what works for you.
Consider combining different liquids for a creative approach.
Choosing the equipment
While there’s no recipe for what gear to use when you photograph a water droplet, some things are important. Among them, a camera that
allows for fast shutter speeds, a macro lens, and a tripod.
Timing is essential in water drop photography. A fast shutter speed helps you catch the perfect moment. You can set the camera’s timer to
open the shutter or you can use a remote shutter release. Also, if you use an external flash, make sure it’s synchronized and fast. You can use
the built-in flash on your camera, but sometimes you’ll need more than one light source.
By using macro lenses, you improve the quality of the composition. Fill the frame with the water droplet and its background, but leave aside
unwanted elements. You can always crop the image later, but you’ll end up with a smaller image or a different aspect ratio if you do.

Hi . I am Achintya Chakraborty . I am a professional fashion photographer . My Photography journey
was started in a dramatic way . I think you won't mind if I share my story with you .
In 2019 , there was a tendency of some beginners like me to take photos with background blur ,
then I decided to buy a dslr camera . And I bought canon 1300d with 55-250 mm lens . Then I used it
in different occasions , events and also for making facebook profile pictures . One day I went
Purbashtali Pakhiralaya and tried to capture birds and I captured Jacana in my frame . One day I was
scrolling my fb news feed I saw a exhibition poster of "Photografeed" . I submitted that Jacana picture .
After some days I almost forgot about the exhibition because I never expected that my photo would
be selected. After somedays I got a mail from them that my photo was selected . I felt really happy
then .
On November 3rd , 2019 I went to the exhibition hall and I was amazed to see the next level
Photography by the perticipents . I was attracted . I felt in love of the art . It was really a different
feelings to me . Photographeed welcomed us and they made a phenomenon environment over there
which helped me to feel comfortable between all the professionals . Then the prize distribution went
on I got participation certificate and trophy . But I am not selected to any category . They had lots of
category , but I was not in them . That's motivated me a lot and I thought I can become a good
Photographer .
Then I try to learn Photography day by day . I felt attracted with conceptual fashion photography . I worked hard in it . I spend lots of time in learning and
discussing , day by day I gathered more knowledge . And finally I tried to do something different , I thought to express my words in a single photograph . When
I successfully did that Photography satisfied me a lot . I think it was amazing and it gives me a silent peace and it motivated me to do more interesting things .
End of the 2020 2nd Photographeed Exhibition held and I participated with three of best pictures . I was thinking that may be I am in top 15 , I was nervous .
When I entered into the hall there was plenty of quality pictures . Everyone had there own thoughts in them . Every members of the group , Photographeed ,
worked hard , presented a quality exhibition , frame and printing are exceptional . There was lots of quality photographers , I met them , lots of knowledge
shared . Award ceremony held , best photographers are awarded .
End of the ceremony I was awarded by -
1st position - fine arts category
2nd position - open colour category
3rd position - fine arts category
My dreams come true . I was confident but I never expected this to happen .
Thank you photographeed .. Thanks a lot for motivating me to grow as a photographer . Thank you so much..
