Earth is the only habitable planet for
living things. The natural beauties and
resources of our blue planet are a trust
for every individual. The trust should be
used properly and handed over to the
next generations as well. With our
activities, we will plant the seeds of
awareness towards nature in tiny hearts,
and when the seeds become saplings,
different beauties will be experienced in
the world every season.
The little environmentalists of Hatice
Hüseyin Bulut Kindergarten planted trees in
the school garden and in the gardens of their
houses for a better world. They also
explained the importance of water to all
school students by saying that water is life.

AT WORK
Written by Mrs. Gülay OCAK SAYAR
Desertification, deforestation, air, water
and soil pollution, hazardous wastes,
depletion of natural resources are among
the most important environmental
problems. In order to draw attention to
this, we organized many activities in our
school with our children.
We read stories to understand the soil and
its importance. We prepared banners with
our families to draw attention to the
drought. We have presented these banners
in all classrooms in our school. It was a
very beautiful and remarkable work. We
also touched the soil, felt it, planted and
watered our plants.
We talked about the importance of
recycling. We separated the garbage we
brought from home. We watched videos
about waste bins, played the Zero waste
game. We collected batteries, we learned
that our batteries are destroyed in nature in
300 years. We understood once again the
importance of throwing them into waste
bins, not trash.

"Dear Earth to admire, friendly Earth
to embrace, enchanted planet to love,
precious Earth to respect".
We started from these words and even
if we are only six years old, we thought
about water that is not inexhaustible
and we must do many things to save it.
We talked also about global warming
and its harmful effects for nature and
therefore for us.
We understood the importance of
plants. We can breathe thanks to them.
So in our school vegetable garden we put
our hands in the land and planted aromatic
plants. Just today we realized that they have
grown!
We have learned to do separate waste
collection and we had fun making
butterflies from the bottom of plastic bottles.

Recycling must be seen as a collective
responsibility of each of us to ensure a
sustainable future.
RECYCLING HELPS STORAGE
NATURAL RESOURCES
When we recycle, used materials are
transformed into new products,
reducing the need to consume natural
resources. If the materials used are not
recycled, new products are created by
extracting fresh raw materials from the
Earth, through activities such as mining
and forestry. Recycling helps preserve
important raw materials and protects
natural habitats for the future.
Presenting these advantages to children, we
started with them to recycling, to reuse of
certain objects. So we created toys in the
group room, maracas that we use for musical
activities, pencil holders and much more.
We reused cardboard, plastic, iron cans.

Only one person is not enough to
protect nature. Little
environmentalists threw the seed balls
they made into the gardens they
passed on their way to school. They
planted them in their own gardens
and pots. They gave them to their
friends as gifts. They collected rain
and snow water. We love you world.
Seed Balls
In order to green our environment
easily, healthily and cheaply, we
prepared “seed balls” that can be planted
in the soil. In this event, we both
contributed to the recycling of waste
paper and newspaper pieces and ensured
the easy spread of plant seeds.

Recycling, as a term, is the
recycling of recyclable waste
materials that are out of use as
raw materials, through various
recycling methods, into the
manufacturing processes. First of
all, the need for raw materials is
reduced, as the consumed
materials can be reintroduced
into the recycling ring.
Our students shared the recycling projects
they prepared with each other in their
classrooms and explained what materials
they used and how they did it. Afterwards,
they exhibited all day in the garden of our
school and made remarkable posts and
presentations on Recycling.

All living things need clean air, clean water,

The purpose of recycling is to prevent unnecessary
use of resources and to reduce the amount of waste.
Thanks to recycling, both resources are used
more efficiently, less energy, less water, less
trees are cut during the production phase.
Less carbon emissions occur.
In order to raise a conscious generation, many
activities were carried out in our school.
Together with the parents, the wastes were
separated and recycled.
