River Blades Skating School

Amanda Truax grew up in Has ngs and had her very first lesson at
the Has ngs Civic Arena. She’s won numerous compe ons around
the US in Figure Ska ng & Dance. She was a member of the NHL’s
Minnesota North Stars Dance Team, skated with Disney on Ice
(toured for 8 years) developing herself as a well-known Figure Ska ng
Choreographer within Disney on Ice. She is also the areas premier
hockey power ska ng coach. Get the edge on your ska ng skills!

LEARN TO SKATE (ages 3-7 years)

Learn to Skate 1 - Beginner skaters ages 3-7; who have
never skated before. Skaters will play games and sing songs as
they develop skills needed to balance and move across the ice.
Beginner skaters who have minimal ska ng experience. Skat-
ers will learn the proper way to fall and get up, hopping and
how to make A’s and V’s. Sec. #595176A

Learn to Skate 2 - Beginner skaters ages 3-7 or skaters who have passed level 1.
Skaters will learn forward swizzles, two foot glides, backward wiggle and stops.

Learn to Skate 3 - Skaters must have completed Level 2 ages 3-7. Skaters will learn
backward swizzles, hockey turns, forward slalom and a semi-spiral. Sec. #595176C

Learn to Skate 4 - Skaters must have completed Level 3. Skaters will learn back-
ward slalom, one foot glides, 3 step crossovers, backward glides (two feet) and pump

Mini Mites 1 - Mini Mites 1 is designed to break down the basic
ska ng skills crucial to the success of your Hockey player. Basic
skills and technical posi ons are presented which create a solid

safety. Classes include: Floa ng on front and back, basic alterna ng and symmetrical
beginner stroke, and safe entries into the water. At the conclusion of the session,
par cipants will receive an assessment and help to provide direc on to con nue their

15+ is the ONLY local Driver’s Educa on Program

Dietz. We offer one-on-one, behind-the-wheel

sessions allowing for personalized instruc on

and thorough parent communica on. No mul -

student behind the wheel in our cars! Behind-the-

Wheel appointments are scheduled according

to birth date; oldest first. Parents and students

can expect high-quality prepara on for the new

driver, with emphasis on mastery of material.

Students will take prac ce tests, including a

prac ce permit test to prepare them for the test

at the driver’s exam sta on. The road to your

driver’s permit and license begins with Has ngs

Community Educa on’s Driver’s Ed! Classroom

training with a Permit Test is on April 18th. In May, there will be a Parent Educa on class

The Youth Impact Council (formerly Youth First Planning
Council) is a student organiza on of the Has ngs High School
that provides leadership training and service opportuni es
for high school students. Serve both in the school and the
community. Projects and ac vi es are brought to the group based on student interest
and community requests. Monthly mee ngs for Winter are held Jan 13, Feb 10, mar
10 and Apr 7, before school at 7:07 am and any student may a end. You can download
