INTRODUCTION The Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre, walkway, and memorial honor all the places to remember those who worked along the railway line. It is also one tourist attraction with tourists coming from many countries worldwide such as Australia, France, England, the Netherlands, etc. The duties of interns are divided into 2 parts: reception and the audio equipment lending service department; The interns in both departments must be able to provide information about the center and communicate with the tourists when they have inquiries. Therefore, information relevant to the center and responsibility of the position of the interns is very crucial to help them deal with work in their department effectively. So, creating a manual to prepare interns who will work at the historical center is very useful in providing comprehensive services. The author foresees the problems of foreign tourists might encounter when visiting. For the reasons, A guidebook for providing services for preparing students for internships through E-Book media from a guidebook called A Bilingual Electronic Guidebook for Internship Students at Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre promotes convenience for foreign tourists who come to use the service. It also increases the speed of the organization ' s work.
WHAT IS HELLFIRE PASS CENTRE? The Hellfire Pass Interpretive Centre, walkway and memorial honor all the prisoners of war of the Japanese and civilian Asian labourers (Romusha), who were forced to work to build a railway connecting Thailand and Burma during the Second World War. Subjected to starvation, disease and unthinkable brutality, many lost their lives. More than 60,000 Allied prisoners worked on the railway. In 1946, the Allied War Graves Registration Unit concluded that approximately 12,500 lost their lives, including 6,300 British, 2,800 Australian, 2,500 Dutch and tens of thousands of Romusha. This place is dedicated to the memory of those men and women who endured captivity, who toiled died, and those who survived, who made the Burma-Thailand Railway significant and very special place. ANZAC DAY ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Anzac Day falls on the 25th of April each year. The day was officially 25th of April was officially named Anzac Day in 1916. On the 25th of April 1915, Australian and New Zealand soldiers formed part of the allied expedition that set out to capture the Gallipoli peninsula. These became known as Anzacs and the pride they took in that name continues to this day. The Anzacs landed on Gallipoli and met fierce resistance from the Ottoman Turkish defenders. Their plan to knock Türkiye out of the war quickly became a stalemate and the campaign dragged on for eight months. At the end of 1915, the allied forces were evacuated. Both sides suffered heavy casualties and endured great hardships. Over 8,000 Australian soldiers were killed. The meaning of Anzac Day today includes the remembrance of all Australians killed in military operations.
HOW TO GET HERE… This is the bus timetable that travels from city center to Hellfire pass centre. It takes approximately 2 hours. And the yellow column is the bus timetable that departs from Thong Pha Phum to Kanchanaburi. It takes about 1 hour to arrive here. BY BUS BY TRAIN This is the train timetable that travels from Bangkok (Tonburi Station) to Hellfire pass centre. It takes approximately 3 hours. When you arrive at Namtok station, you can take a taxi to Hellfire pass centre. It takes around 40-45 minutes.

Our staff and students will work together in providing visitation information, safety details as well as collecting related records of visitors daily. The reception work also involves coordinating the use of golf buggies and handling incoming phone calls to the Centre.

HOW TO PROVIDE INFORMATION 4. Information you must provide to visitors (continue…) Once you finish the upper floor, please go down stairs, you can collect an audio headset to listen to the story along the way as you on the walking trail. This service is free of charge. You only need to deposit an ID card with our staff. 5. Notifications of walking trail For the visitors who are interested in walking, we have two distances of walking trails. The short walk is in blue and the long walk in green. The short walk is to go from the Centre down to the Hellfire Pass cutting and then take the same route to get back to the center. This is about 500 meters each trip. So, going to the Hellfire Pass Cutting and to get back to the center will take 1 Km and takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. The long walk is in green which is another 2 Kilometers further from the walkways; making the total walk 2.5 Kilometers. The full long walk will be 5 kilometers and takes about 3 hours. Do you plan to do a long walk today? If you would like to do a long walk, please inform our staff at the lower floor before you go. Daily allowance of 300 THB /Day, per day will be given at end of month, calculated from the total working days. Shared accommodation among four interns. The accommodation of a detached bungalow with 2 bedrooms, fully furnished, and equipped with essential appliances will be shared among 4 interns. The Centre will also cover the utility expenses. WHERE IS THE BATHROOM? There is only one bathroom, which is outside. You can walk up towards the parking lot. Then, turn left. It will be next to the coffee shop. This place is divided into 2 zones: a 2-story building and a walking path for tourists to walk around. THE TREE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GORGE IS ABSENT FROM THIS PICTURE. WHERE HAS IT GONE NOW? This tree died in 2023. The center is afraid that it will cause harm to tourists. So, it was taken out. This bridge is the same railway line as this railway.
