3. Pick Effortless Fabrics: Lightweight jerseys that wash and wear
easily are such a sanity saver on trips. Start with what you own,
and then fill in any gaps with items from travel specialists as well
as Amazon, Nordstrom, Everlane, and your other favorite fashion
retailers.
4. Pick a Palette: A color palette makes packing easy and
effortless. If this is a new concept to you, stick to a neutral travel
wardrobe with an accent color, maybe for accessories. For
example, maybe you could decide to build your travel capsule
around neutrals like white, navy, and gray, with a splash of red
mixed in for fun.
5. Don’t Overpack: For a one-week getaway, plan on 10-12 items
of clothing that can be mixed and matched for versatility. These
items, plus accessories, should be enough to get you through a
week in style. Pick separates, not outfits, and you’ll find that you
have the most versatile travel wardrobe.

Mature Skin Foundation Tips:
1.Layer Hydrating lotion to plump fine lines. Beauty Oils, Hyaluronic Acid
cream, and Sheet Masks are helpful.
2.Use a primer to ensure foundation longevity. Smashbox Photo Finish
Primer is a best seller.
3.Apply foundation lightly to avoid creasing in lines. Some Favorite
Foundation recommendations for mature skin include: IT Cosmetics-
Bye Bye Lines Foundation, Lancôme Resilience Lift Foundation, L'Oréal
Age Perfect Serum Foundation, and Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.
4.Set it & forget it! Use a setting powder or setting spray to keep your
foundation lasting all day and help avoid creasing or movement. Laura
Mercier Translucent setting powder is a best seller. Or your can try Mac

WOMAN OF INFLUENCE
MENDY HOFFMAN
The Style Guide Society Woman of Influence for May 2021 is Mendy
Hoffman, owner of Velocity Stylebar
Best advice for a lady going gray...color or not to color
Mendy: If you have brunette hair. you can lighten the hair
allover so when the gray comes in it's not a harsh line. Or, you
can let it grow and then use a root color spray to color the gray
as it grows out. Find hairstyles that cover the gray areas. If you
have blonde hair, use blonde shampoo to blend with the gray.
Hair is drying with age. What can I do prevent drying?
Mendy: Definitely use a heat protectant if you are adding heat
to your hair with a dryer or a hot iron. Deep conditioning
treatments will help as well. Avoid overuse of keratin products
and use hydrating based products. Avoid applying heat to your
hair daily.

WOMAN OF INFLUENCE
When is it time to color the gray hair?
Mendy: There is no set time or amount of gray hair one must have to
stop covering the gray. It's completely up to you and what you feel
comfortable with. If you are ready to embrace your gray, then go for it!
You are the only one that needs to love it.
Is there a rule of when older ladies shouldn't have long hair
anymore?
Mendy: I say you do you. If you love a French twist go for it, it is very
elegant. Cut it to a shorter length if it becomes unmanageable for you.
Hair trends for summer of 2021?
Mendy: Braids are a trend right now. They can be worn with different
styles and worn at any age. Bubble braids, regular braids, waterfall
braids....all kinds of braids. Also, the high messy bun is still on trend.
Check out my Instagram to view all the different styles at
@velocitystylebar.
Beach waves are coming back for the summer and full big curls are on
trends. Sea salt spray for easy beach hair with a bobby pin on one
side. You can purchase a sea salt spray from various brands but if
you make your own this won't have salt in it. That would dry out and
damage your hair. My favorite are R+Co products. Available at

10 Easy-Breezy Outfits
Spring style has always like a breath of fresh air, but this year it feels
fresher and more fashionable than ever before. Maybe it’s the fact that
it comes after a long cold winter, one where even the warmest states
suffered unseasonably cold weather. Or maybe it’s because, after
years of same-old same-old, clothes genuinely look new (in a
throwback kind of way), inspiring us to try new things and take new
risks with our style.
Here, 10 simple outfit formulas that you can make as classic or as
trendy as you like, simply by your choice of pieces. From subtle nods to
the trends (a square neck on an otherwise classic silhouette, a neutral
palette) to a full embrace (head to toe volume, pink suits with white
boots), there is a version of these looks for almost everyone.

2 10 Easy-Breezy Outfits
1.Square Neck Top + Wide Leg Pants
Two key silhouettes of the season, these pair beautifully together
to create a flattering look. A square neck top can be anything from
a simple knit tee in a solid color to a floaty floral style with puff
sleeves. This silhouette is often, but not always, combined with a
stretchy smock bodice. Choose a style that is fitted through the
body to pair with a pair of flowy or structured wide leg pants for a
balanced look. From casual crops to high-waisted dress pants, the
wide-leg silhouette is a stylish and flattering seasonal update.
2. Floral Dress + Cardigan
The ubiquitous floral dress is the easiest and breeziest look for
summer, and this season offers something for everyone, from
tiered maxis to flowy minis. Button-front midi styles, shirtdresses
and flouncy babydolls are all key looks for the season. Add a little
edge and make the look more casual with the addition of a chunky
cardigan and chic sneakers.

3. Strong Shoulder Tee + Wide Leg Jeans
Two of the key trends of the season are tees with strong shoulders
and slouchy denim. Combined, they create what may be the most
current, cool, of-the-moment silhouette. For maximum flattery, and
to avoid a hard-to-wear baggy on baggy look, keep the top sleek
and the waistline defined. A chunky flatform or slide balances out
the wide leg denim.
4. Oversized Blazer + Button-Down + Jeans
An oversized blazer with strong shoulders is key to the strong
triangular silhouette that is dominating style for spring. Skip this
style if you have an inverted triangle body type, but if you’re a pear,
the strong shoulder is super flattering, balancing out your curvy
lower half and highlighting a small waist. Worn with a classic
button-down and jeans, this is a great transitional look that will take
you through a number of spring events.

5. Statement Sleeve Blouse + White Jeans
One of the prettiest and easiest looks of the season, this outfit pairs
classic white jeans, a summertime staple, with a feminine blouse.
The sleeves can be as dramatic or as simple as you like, and can
be found in sleek solids or frilly florals.
6. Colorful Sets or Suits
Trade in your tired matched sweat set from winter and replace it
with a springier version. Colorful suits, featuring oversized blazers
and slouchy pants or skinny shorts, look freshest in pretty pastels,
trendy neons, or colorful brights. Plus, they’re the easy answer to
your what-to-wear wardrobe dilemmas!

7. Slipdress + Blazer
If you don’t have a neutral slipdress yet, why wait? It’s the perfect
layer over fitted tees and turtlenecks now, and worn on it’s own all
summer long. One of the freshest ways to wear this versatile dress,
however, is under the season’s oversized statement blazers.
8. Tonal Neutrals
While sets and suits are all about matching, one of the beauties of
neutrals is that you’re not required to match the shades exactly.
They all go together because they’re, well, neutral. Try creating a
chic and effortless look by layering multiple neutrals together in one
outfit.

9. White Tops + Khaki Pants
A sleek neutral look, khaki looks super chic in a pair of slouchy,
cargo-inspired trousers worn with a sleek white top. It’s a classic
summertime color combination that suddenly looks new.
10. Jumpsuits
Jumpsuits are a fun alternative to dresses. They’re just as cool and
comfortable, and the variety this season means there’s a style for
every woman. Try a charming gingham or floral print, or stick to
solids with sleek or utilitarian styles.
