COMPETITION FORMATS

4BBB Stableford: Two players play as partners. Each hole is contested
under stableford scoring rules. The player scoring the most points on
the hole is the best ball. His/her result is recorded for that hole. Only
one card is used for each team. Care must be taken to mark the scores
of each player in separate columns headed by initials of the player.
4BBB Par: This event is played in exactly the same way as a 4BBB
Stableford, except that the better ball of the partnership will be
credited with a +,0 or – rather than points.
2B Stableford/Par: Played exactly the same as 4BBB Stableford/Par.
This terminology is used when played in conjunction with a single event.
Mixed 4BBB Stableford/Par: Played as described previously with the
man playing from his tee and the women from her tee.
Foursomes: Two players play as partners and use one ball. The
partners drive alternatively from the tee (i.e. each player has a
minimum nine 9 drives per round) and thereafter strike the ball
alternately during the play of each hole. Scoring is done as for a stroke
round. Note: If a player incurs a penalty it does not alter the rotation
of play.
Mixed Foursomes: Played in the same manner as foursomes except
that the women use their own tees.
Canadian Foursomes: This event is played as per a Foursomes event
except that both players play tee shots at every hole and afterwards
continue with whichever ball they nominate, with the partner playing
the second shot.
Canadian Two Stroke: Similar to Canadian Foursomes except players
play 2 strokes with their own ball before nominating the continuing
ball. Then the partner plays the 3rd stroke.
American Foursomes: Both players play tee shots at each hole,
and then play a second stroke with their partner’s ball. One ball is
nominated to continue play, as in foursomes, with the owner of the
selected ball playing the third stroke.
Team of 2 Multiplier Stableford: Two players Stableford scores for
each hole are multiplied to give the result for the hole.
i.e. Player A has 2 pts. Player B has 3 pts = 6pts.
Player A has 0 pts. Player B has 4 pts. = 0 pts.
Split Sixes (Minimum team of 3, maximum team of 4): Team
playing a Stableford competition. For holes 1-6 the best individual
score is recorded. For holes 7-12 the best two scores are recorded. For
holes 13-18 the best three scores are recorded.
Medley Competition: Any Combination of men and ladies. Full
handicaps are used for scoring.
Swinger: If a player is in a group of 3 and does not have a partner the
lowest handicapped player (swinger) will be the common denominator
for two (2) teams. The swing player shall only be eligible for one prize
(voucher, trophy or ball-rundown).
