a message from the director

Brenda Harvey-Williams Find your next adventure in our high-quality, fast-paced, and fun spring/summer programming! We’re
department Director excited to offer recreation classes and activities, summer day camp, aquatics, and events through our
Parks After Dark program. Some programming will remain virtual, but many activities are being offered
in-person.

We hope to have as many children and families as possible participate in our programming this
summer. To support this goal, the City of Pasadena has continued to reduce fees for summer
programming for Pasadena residents under age 18 and Pasadena Unified School District students.
We will offer six summer camps with amazingly affordable rates. In addition, we have scholarships
available for qualifying families. Our aquatics program for young people under the age of 18 will be
similarly affordable with each week of swim lessons. Finally, please consider joining a low cost youth
sports team for the entire season of basketball, volleyball and soccer or check out our non-contact
boxing program.

Fees for adults and youth who reside outside of Pasadena and do not attend a PUSD school will
remain at our usual rates. Rest assured, we continue to work closely with our Pasadena Public Health
Department to implement COVID-19 safety protocols. We hope to see you enjoying our parks and
facilities this summer. If you have any questions about programming or need more information, please
contact us at [email protected], or call (626) 744-4386.

Get
Connected

with a Hot Spot &
Chromebook!

Pasadena Public Library offers Chromebooks
and Wi-Fi hotspots available for checkout at
all branch libraries.

Hotspots

As a mobile device, a hotspot provides a Wi-Fi link to the internet
from any location. Hotspots can also provide Wi-Fi service to
nearby devices simultaneously, which can benefit other
household members.

Chromebooks

Chromebooks are laptops that can connect to the internet
through any accessible Wi-Fi network—including the one
you create with a hotspot.

The devices will be available for a four-week loan
period to library patrons with a valid library card. One
hotspot and one Chromebook may be checked out
per card. Patrons must provide a signed lending
agreement form in order to be able to check these
items out. After the lending agreement is signed by
the responsible party, a hotspot and/or Chromebook
can be checked out with just the library card.

Funding for the hotspots was provided by The Friends of the Pasadena Public Library.
The La Pintoresca Library Associates funded additional Chromebooks for the La Pintoresca Branch Library.
