Multiple-tier Timelines

Multiple-tier timelines use two or more rows of events.
While each row represents a different subject, the time
period is the same.

Multiple-tier timelines can be used to help us look at
cause and effect relationships or patterns and themes
among events in a specific period of time.

We will be using a multi-tier timeline to show the rise
and fall of four early civilizations in the Americas: The
Mississippian, Inca, Maya, and Aztec and look for
RELATIONSHIPS between the dates.

The Maya

The Mayan civilization were very interesting
culture. They invented very common things that
we use today, like writing. They interacted with
each other in weird ways. They had mini cities
across areas that fought for land so they city
could grow. They thought if they pleased the
gods by sacrificing people to them they would
stay pleased and they could continue growing
crops and survive. They did this to slaves
because it was the lowest tier of government.

They had to do this more because they lived
down in the Yucatan Peninsula and they needed
rain to grow those exotic fruits. They needed
the food to survive. They had a very complex
union at the time. They shaped our world that is
today. They sadly had a downfall, and vanished
in 900 A.D.

farmers. However, they were also important because they were the ones who grew all the food and gave ⅔ of the supply to the
government. The Inca government also needed to rely on them for prosperity.
