Non-Realstar Cannula

The Inside Story

Microscopic examination reveals that the lumen of a
non-REALSTAR cannula is a landscape of spikes and
pits, and may contain caustic chemicals embedded in the
stainless steel during tube processing. Tissue passing over
this surface experiences substantial cellular destruction
and may become contaminated. The spiky landscape also
causes a great deal of friction.

Realstar’s proprietary extruding and honing process
cleans and polishes the lumen of each REALSTAR cannula,
smoothing out the spikes and pits and ushing away
embedded foreign substances. The result is a more cell
friendly cannula, especially for micro injection procedures.

The Outside Story Realstar Cannula

Unlike a non-REALSTAR cannula, the outer
surface of a REALSTAR cannula goes through
two processes. First it is highly polished. Next
zirconium nitride is fused to the outside surface.
This combination creates a virtual cloaking
device between the cell and the cannula. The
result is a smooth, lubricious surface nearly 80%
less resistant in tissue.

Tumescent In ltrator

This cannula is used speci cally for the infusion of tumescent solution. The con guration
of the ports allows even distribution of the uid.

Standard

This is the most common cannula design for soft tissue removal. The single port is located
180 degrees from the thumb rest on the hub.

Pyramid

This commonly used design has three ports located 180 degrees from the thumb print. It
is a slightly more aggressive cannula than the Standard.

Mercedes

This circumferential three port con guration is e ective for multi-plane
soft tissue harvesting.

Cobra Bibevel / Cobra Roud Tip

More aggressive than the Standard, Pyramid or Mercedes, this cannula has a tapered
tip with two ports and works e ectively within dense brous tissue. Also available in
a round tip con guration.

Flap

The Flap is primarily used as an undermining dissector, and in smaller diameters,
for facial tissue removal. The Flap Cannula in a 2.1mm diameter is very useful for
undermining the nasolabial fold prior to autologous tissue injections, as well as for
tissue removal in this anatomic area.

Field Flap

With its elevated leading edge, this cannula is designed to open and
expose soft tissue for more precise suctioning along the mandible and sub-
mental areas.

Flap Dissector

The rib between the two openings makes this cannula a very aggressive instrument. In
the smaller diameter sizes, the Flap Dissector works well in the super cial compartment
of the face and neck. It is particularly useful in the jowl and lower third of the face.

Toledo V-Dissector

This cannula is speci cally designed for use in the super cial compartment of the truncal
area. The cutting notch is very useful for undermining in facial procedures and, in dense

brous tissue.
