How To Read Data Dictionary

Objective Of Data Dictionary

The objective of data dictionary is to promote data transparency and understanding.
It allows users to know how each measure and dimension is defined, how they are
typically used as well as how exactly they are generated from the back-end systems.
Do look up data dictionary in the below situations:

1• You do not know what the measure or dimension is; and the usage(best practice)

2• You know the literal meaning of the measure or dimension, but you want to ensure
the understanding is aligned

3• You encounter data abnormality (e.g., unknown values) and want to find an
explanation

Each measure and dimension has a dedicated one-pager, with key sections as
