Eisenhower School welcomed the students and their Grand-
parents back from winter break with a celebration. The
Grandparents started their day with a warm welcome from
Principal Kolinski and a hot breakfast before they headed to
the classrooms. There they participated in the students’ daily
activities. This is always a great opportunity for the Grand-
parents to tour the school, meet the staff, and enjoy extra time
with their grandchildren.

TAFT Kindergarten and First grade students will be participating in the Kids Heart
Challenge, formerly known as Jump Rope for Heart, to help raise money for the
American Heart Association. This year to help kick it off a representative from
Kids Heart Challenge came to Taft to speak with the students. Students are en-
couraged to try and raise $5 and sign up for the challenge online. During this time,
students will learn how to take care of their own heart by eating healthy foods,
staying away from sugar, and exercising. The final event date will be February
21st.
Mr. Ronald Rottman, P.E. Teacher
Coolidge Middle School Garden Club made eye-catching flower
arrangements. These arrangements can be used as a centerpiece
or given as a gift. The students used a variety of short and tall
flowers. They garnished their arrangement with decorative
stones.

Phoenix Fire Department
Coolidge Middle School students and staff helped sup-
port the Phoenix Fire Department with their food and
toy drive. As a thank you, the Department provided ice
cream to the school. In addition to the donations, the
