The Neighbourhood Lowdown
Birch Cliff neighbourhood in Toronto is a really wonderful area to set down some roots
and raise a family. Birch Cliff Village, as it is fondly called, is in the southwest area of old
Scarborough, nestled along the Lake Ontario shore atop the Scarborough Bluffs. Offering
great value, it’s not hard to see why people are flocking to this charming neighbourhood
in search of their next home. If you find yourself wandering along the Kingston Road
corridor, pop into Busters Pub for a pint and some grub. Stroll a little further to find where
Chef Corbin has recently opened a signature shop to pick up gourmet ready-made food
or order catering. The area took off when local residents converted an iconic bank
building into a tasteful and beautiful decor and floral shop; The House and Garden
which is loved not just by locals but as a destination for people all over the city. Locals
and cyclists also congregate at The Birch Cliff Coffee shop for specialty coffee, fresh
baked treats, including vegan options and an expansive patio and catch up with friends.

The Neighbourhood Lowdown
The Bluffs also known as Cliffside, Cliffcrest or Cliffside Village is a family-oriented com-

The lushness and natural beauty of this area emanates from the spectacular Scarborough
Bluffs, whose towering sandy cliffs peer out over the Lake Ontario shoreline. The retail
shopping corridor situated along Kingston Road offers an interesting mix of small shopping
plazas and restaurants. Many of Cliffcrest’s bungalows, storey-and-a-half houses, semi-
detached homes and detached, two-storey houses were built in the late 1940’s and the
1950’s. The larger estate lots across the top of the Bluffs from Windy Ridge along the
Hill Crescent corridor feature some of the finest and most expansive homes in the
east end.

Spring is in
the air
Spring is finally in the air. Not only are the flowers and buds blooming, so
is the real estate market. Evolving housing needs triggered by the pandemic
and low-interest rates have kept the market heated.
We absolutely love the spring, the busy real estate market combined with the
spring thaw, and even more so after many months of lockdown. We have a
love for all things real estate and according to this busy market, we are not
alone.
We know as the seasons change so does the décor. From the bright pops of
colour that kick off the season in our gardens to the beautiful spring inspira-
tions found at our favourite home and garden shops — Spring has sprung.

SPOTLIGHT
Luminosity
The Beach BIA has filled Queen Street East with so much light
in this dark and trying time. Luminosity features 8 diverse light
installations along the busy street that transform spaces into art
and allow local residents to safely enjoy and experience the
warmth of light through artist interpretation. Local businesses
were also able to purchase neon hearts from the BIA and Moss
LED to show appreciation to all frontline workers by displaying
them in windows to truly show; we’re all in this together. We’re
so grateful to the amazing Beach BIA for organizing such a
welcomed event.
