Intervention Activities:

Picture Story

1. Teacher explains the use of Past Simple and Past - What is
Continuous. Simple Past
and Past
2. Teacher gives handout to pupils containing a series of Continuous
pictures and tell pupils that the pictures are not in the
correct order. - Picture Story

3. Teacher asks pupils to rearrange the picture in the
correct order and find the past tense of each of the written
verb on the pictures.

4. Pupils will write a sentence using all the Simple Past and
Past Continuous that they have formed.

5. Teacher discusses the answers in class.

Week 2

Gap Identified: Subject Verb Agreement

Learning Objectives: Pupils would be able to determine
the verb that agrees with the subject.

Success Criteria: I can recognize Subject Verb Agreement
in a sentence and use them correctly.

Awareness Raising Activities: (MUST use authentic
data minimum twice)

Intervention Activities:

1. Teacher explains what Subject Verb Agreement is.
2. Teacher explains that when the subject is ‘alone’, the
subject needs a friend (‘s’)

3. Teacher asks pupils to answer the worksheet.

4. Teacher discusses the answers

5. Teacher draws two columns on the white board and
ask pupils quiz each other by writing a subject on the
right column and a verb agreement on the left.

6. Teacher discusses the answer in class.

- rearranging pictures in the correct sequence
- writing a sentence based on the picture using the

1. Teacher gives a list of Connectors/Linkers and
explain the categories of linkers/connectors.
e.g:

2. Teacher explains that each of the Linker/Connector
has their own meaning and usage.
3. Teacher gives worksheet to pupils in which pupils
need to fill in the blank with the correct
linker/connector.
4. Teacher discusses the answer in class.

1. Teacher explains that OREO technique is a
technique that can be used to teach Linkers.
2. Teacher gives a list of Connectors/Linkers and
explain the categories of linkers/connectors.

3. Teacher explain that pupils need to rewrite all the
sentences from the previous lesson.
4. All sentences must be linked using suitable linkers
where appropriate using the OREO template.

5. Each box must contain at least one
Linkers/Connectors.
