LAGOS

History
This nearby historic town was an important point of arrival and departure for ocean voyages when the Portuguese navigators started to discover the new
world in the XV century, establishing several colonies in America, Africa and Asia. That legacy is still present, and Lagos is now more popular than ever as a
destination for visitors, particularly since the construction of the A22 motorway in 2009, connecting the city with Faro’s airport in less than one hour.
 
Statistics
Lagos has an area of 213 km2 (82 mi2). The population is more than 30,000, with a high percentage [20-30%] of foreign residents.
 
Authenticity
Its location at the western end of the Algarve has kept Lagos safe from the over-development seen in some other parts of the region as a result of the touristic
boom of the seventies. When interest in Lagos began to grow, the town had the chance to learn from these examples and create a better development model.
Today Lagos is one of the most visited cities in Portugal and enjoys a reputation of being a prime destination with a very good balance between authenticity
and modern development.
 
Beaches
Lagos is known for having some of the most beautiful beaches of the Algarve - seven with “Blue Flag” recognition. They are natural places not spoilt by
over-development. One of these beaches – “Ponta da Piedade” – has been called “the most beautiful beach on earth” by “The Huffington Post”. Another spectacular
beach is “Meia Praia” with 4Km of white sand and calm waters, starting in Lagos and ending in the estuary of “Ria de Alvor”. This last place is a protected

construction and the release of plots by concentrating in a specific area (Alameda Palmares and Via Panorâmica in the first phase)
instead of taking a scattered approach. This approach is adaptable to the pace of the market and is focused on maintaining a pleasant
atmosphere for the property owners avoiding too much obtrusive building noise.

The development at Onyria Palmares follows the same principles established by the legacy of “Quinta da Marinha Resort”, where
Onyria created what is widely regarded as one of the best golf resorts in Portugal. In that project, real estate prices have risen from

Robert Trent Jones Junior is the son of the legendary Trent Jones Senior, who redesigned some of Augusta’s
