him and his new class. This isn't as harcl as it may seem. All it needs is a small joke or witty remark to get the students and the tcacher more relaxed and start the flow of things. As a wise man once said 'A smile is the shortest distance between two people'. Being a gooil teacher is no easy task. As Confucius once said "lt is impossible to arrive at the summit of the mountain without passing through rough and clifferent paths." The teachers are the builders of our nation. A candle loses nothing of its light by lighting another candle; nor do teachers when they light us with knowledge. They will always be respecred ancl apprcciated. I end this essay with a phrase quoted by Kahlil Gibran "You give but little when you give of your posscssions. It is when you give of yourselves that you truly give." Thank you teachers. You will always be remembered. That's a phrase dreaded by all teachers nlore so if it comes from one of his clisciples. Yes, boredom is an obstacle every tcacher has to face, some more than others. Imagine a class where one by one l.he students clroop away and soon the class resembles a battle field near East Saigon, dcad bodies cverywhere. A smack on the back woulcl be fast and effective, but in the long run more harm than good would have been done. To avoid boredom, the teacher musl be energetic and full of trepiclation when teaching. He must not limit himself with the conventional methocl of teaching. He must be full of new ideas in teaching and creatc three climensional teaching among his students. This attitude will make the stuclents more active ancl protluctive. They must learn that for the wise their actions speak for them. A life that does not go into action is a failure. A goocl teacher shoulcl be attentive and must survey the well-being of his students. There shoulcl be warmth and friendliness in his treatment of his students. He must create the atmosphere of a family union and be more understanding, especially among the weaker students. Hc must be a good councellor and be able to analyse the problems that his stuclents face. He may be the father, big brother or even the best friend of his students. A good teacher must be disciplined and set a good example. He must keep away from bacl habits like smoking and drinking for his actions will certainly influence his pupils. He must be an all round scholar, bcing good at subjects other than that he teaches. He must also be a wcll-balanccd human being, joining co-curricular activities like clubs, associations ancl play sports with the pupils. He must show that there is another sicle to him than the stern serious character he shows in class. This will bring him closer to the students. But he must not be too lenient for the students may get rlisobedient. There should always be an air of rcspect arounrl him.

In a nutshell, an examination is sornething all of us must face. There is no exception. Buit<l up courage, walk conlidently into the examination hall, take your seat and GO FOR IT.....!! With thar ladies ancl genlleman, I would like to take leave by wishing all of you goorl luck ancl for the 1991 SPM candidates, let's make the school proud....Thank you. SHORT STORY WRITING COMPETITION CATEGORY A 1ST. PRIZE THE COIFFURE AFFAIR "Mimi Moore?" Any relation to Randell Moore 007? Or is it Mimi in the Wheels of Fortune?" I tried hard to rccollect where I heard that name, a family name if I'm not mistaken. Apparently not in mine. "Oh no! You dafty geek! She's the one with the cute hairtlo, you know. Short, sweet and totally cool!" my best friend almost shrieked it out. "Phew! You make it sound as though she's the Queen of England, for God's sake!" said I. "I can't believe you've never heard of hcr! Where have you been all this time dear...in Mars?" she said in her most sweet and sarcastic voice. i got the point. Immediately I set off to our local hangout, the mall and ransacked all the bookstores there. I wouldn't want to be thought way behind. After all a girl is a girl, wanting to be in the 'hip' crowd is most common amongst this species, ridiculous but often true. Sure enough, there she was.......... Mimi Moore staring at me. More like me staring at her on almost all covers of popular magazines. Apparently she is the hottest artiste in Mollywood after her blockbuster Ghouls. She looked like a dream. And I thought I absolutely had to have her coiffure. Determination is one of my specialities. Then I headecl to Crimples. The bcst hairclrcssing salon in town. I was deterininecl to spend all that I have. Taking a deep breath I went inside and asked one of the hair stylists, "How much for a Mimi Moore?" Staring at me up and down and chewing the gum (Ugh! How irritating!"), she said, "Sure you've enough money honev?" (What you mcan enough money?) "Try me." I darecl. "Around 45 dollars." (Yikes! On the othcr hand, don't try mc!) "Well, I think I changcd my mind. I lovc my hair too much," I vainly tried to sound proud but to no avail. "Oh surc.., " she smirkcd. ISMAIL 5 TEKAD SAYE THE LAST DANCE The moon shone brightly in the sky, The sky was clear and each twinkling star was busting with its own brilliant light. A gentle breeze blew the piles of driecl leavcs, making them rise ancl swirl. Each time a gust came up, it brought with it just a hint of chill. It was a perfect night. On top of the hill stoocl a lovely huge mansion, ablaze with lights and colourful Ianterns which lit the way up to the parking lot. Soft, melodious music blazed out from the brightly lit building, breaking the silence that surrounded the cool night air. Inside, the main room was decorated with pink ancl white banners plus a dance band was playing on the podium at the far encl, Camera flashes kept blazing like lightning. Exciting blue of elegant dresses, trickling punch glasses and huge grins pasted on everyone's face made the whole place dazzling. Casey lookecl stunning in her white, lacerl weclcling gorvn. Her auburn wary long hair seemed to clance along with music as tho soft breezc blew gently across the room. She was <lancing on lhe large marble dance floor, in her father's protective arms as her groom watched from the main entrance. She saw his gaze on her and could f'ee1 colour filling her cheeks as he sent her a claz, zling smile. Richard started to look around to locate the car. It was a blue BMW and it stopped on a road which was nearby. The door swung open and a slim man in his forties came out of it smoking a cigar. He was wearing a white suit and a pair of sunglasses. The man walked to the booth. "Who is he, Richard? Did you invite him?" "He is Z.acgary Mc Rauen. We work together. And no, of course I didn't invite him". "What does he want with us?", asked Jane. The anxious expression on her face changed to fear when she saw the man taking an M-16 machine gun from the booth. "Hey there, Richie boy. Having a picnic I see. I will destroy everything you own. I will start with your life and your wife". A continuous sound of bullets being fired filled the air followed by Richard and Jane screaming. "No!!" Richard got up and he was extremely shocked to see iron bars around him. He rememberd instantly where he was and what had happened. It was a bad dream. Richard took a recl marker pen which was under his bed and marked another day off his calendar. Tomorrow was the end for Richard. It is also the end of his fight for freedom and justice. Just as Richard started to lie on his old dusty bed again, he heard a man shouting. "How dare you treat me like this, you low life cop? I happen to own seven companies". "Just shut up", shouted the policeman and pushed the man into the cell. The man began to act wildly. "I want to see my lawyer and arrange for a trial". The man continuecl shouting but Richard didn't pay any attention. His thoughts driftect somewhere else when he heard the word 'trial'. "Your Honour, Richarcl Lawson is guilty as charged. He did murder Bop Harkins on the 7th of September." "I object Your Honour. This man cannot be called guilty until he is proven guilty by the court". Don! Don! The judge stopped both the lawyers from quarrelling by using his trusty hammer. "Behave yourselves. This is a court room, not your local coffee shop!" "But Your Honour, they don't have any evidence to prove that my client did commit the murder" "If evidence is what you want, then evidence is what you will get" said the opposing lawyer. 172

CATEGORY A 4TH PRIZE S\'ED ALWI MOI-ID. SULTAN 5 CEKAL 91 THE MOST EMBARASSING MOMENT COME IIOME QUICK STOP MOM BAD SICK STOP I gazed at the telegam in my hands. My hands started to shiver, my heart started to pound harder. Quickly, I went to my room and .started packing. It was Saturday morning some time around May last year when I received the telegram. After learning that my mom was sick, I took the earliest bus available to my village. It was a two-hour ride from the city on that antique, dilapidated bus which I suppose was making its last appearance as a vehicle. It stopped at Muda River jetty which was as far as it could go. I stepped down the bus, throwing away a document which wasn't important anymore, the ticket, into the dustbin. It missed by a few inches and fell to the ground. I clidn't bother as I was in haste. I noticed a motorboat ready to take off. I got into it just to find it as another battered, rotten, old mode of transportation. Anyhow it clidn't marter much. My mind was fixed on the telegram I received four hours ago. What did it mean by 'bad sick'? 'What's wrong with her?' The boat reached the other side of the river bank. I glanced at my watch. Two o'clock in the afternoon. I stood at the river jetty for a while and observed the scene. It had been nearly one whole year since I last visited mom. Nothing had changed much. The sky was cloudless and it was very hot. Perspiration ran down through my shoulder blacles, my face ancl all over my body. I walked briskly to the village clinic. I went, bursting inlo the doors, to the receptionist. "Where's my mom?" panting a little, I questionecl her. "Your mom? May I know her name please?" she asked softly. I realized my mistake. My mother is not a superstar singer or an actress for everyone to recognise. "Oh ! I'm sorry. She is Mrs. Kalsom. You see, I just received a telegram saying she was ill. I just arrived from Kuala Lumpur." "Yes, I understanil" she saicl calmly. Then..." Are you the famous.....Wira Hidayat..the...the" she was stumbling with hcr words' "Actor, singer, songwriter, you mean? Yes. Now may I know where my mom is?" "Oh yesl Yes, of course" she recovered from her amusement. After turning a few pages of the receptionist's book, her eyes widened. She stopped blinking and was gazing directly at the book. In an attempt to switch off the motors, I acciclentally switched on the eject-button that threw me into space. The anti-gravity belt came off my suit and I felt the vicious grip of gravity catching me. I felt a sort of force crushing me. A terrible pain ran through my body. Soon, I realised that I was not moving. I glancecl at my wrist-watch that showed my weight as 3 million kilogrammes. I was being crushed by my own weight! A few centimetres from my hand was my anti-gravity belt, but try as I would, I just couldn't reach it' I looked above me... huge meteors were exploding but I had no time to enjoy those brilliant fireworks as my oxygen supply was rapidly running short. Struggling, I managed to reach my anti-gravity belt. I founcl my rocket safe. Not long after I realised that only my space suit had saved me. With the AGM on full power, I came out of the black-hole. With a sense of relief, I made my way to earth. Unfortunately, my high speecl voyage plus the time I spent in the black-hole hacl thrown me into'the future without me knowing itl I could see earth. Soon I landecl near my house. After I made sure that the rocket was safe, I macle my way to my house' I wonclerecl who occupied my house after I left. My heart thumped widly as I knocked the door. It startled me to face a young, charming girl. Trying to make myself normal, I asked her "Excuse me. Where is Dr. Azree? I'm his er...friend". "what?,' she lookecl at me suspiciously, nAIe you mad? Dr. Azree is my great granclfather. He was lost in the back hole." That made me clizzy. Somehow, I managed to convince her that I was the granclson of Dr. Azree's friencl living on the other side of earth. She introclucecl herself to me as Alina, professor of history in thc 25th Century. I took off my space-suit. "Wow! You look exactly like Dr. Azree," She exclaimed as she procluce<l an image of me on the computer. A smile sprearl over my face' Everything in my lab was untouchecl. On asking, she explainecl "Since Dr. Azree was lost in the black hole, h.is son, my granclfather vowecl not to follow in his footsteps and switched to history. So my father and I followecl him. Yet, we publicizcd Dr. Azree's research papers. Some provecl genuine ancl some were disproved." I recorded the flaws in a disk. A few hours later, I finished inventing a rather crude time machine. Quickly, I attached it to the booster of the AGM. I bid a quick good-byc to Alina and was soon on my way back to the Present' I was lost in thoughts of my future anrl Alina's past. Soon, I will reach earth and 'I won't be a great granclpa.' i chucklecl to myself. My apperance on earth will be a shock but my successors won't become historians but great scientists. I will moclify my flaws in my theories. Lost in pleasant thoughts, I dicln't notice a meteor hurtling towards me. By the lime I changecl course, it was too late. The meteor ripped my rocket Iike a tin foil and I driftecl into space. AGM'S plutonium gas chamber exploded and I woulcl last as long as my oxygen lastect. Adcl ancl Es knew why Rina hardly ever spent an evening home but kept their mouths shut. They di<l not want any misunderstanding and hostility to spoil their friendship. But they also didn't want to see Liz hurt. Zana put her plan into action soon after the incident. The disillusioned village girl was reacly to do everything to make her dreams come true. She invited the girl to a dinner. Liz was ecstatic because it was the first time she was dining 'in style'. She looked beautiful. The gauche kampung girl no more. The tall, fair and hanclsome Mr. Afdzhal as her escort was a delightful companion. As he clrove Liz home, he presented her a pair of beautiful earrings. Liz had come by her first beautiful possession. It was the beginning of many more dates and gifts in the following weeks. And never once did Liz suspect him of having any ulterior motive! After five weeks of clating her, Afdzhal decided to get some return for the money he hacl spent. After parking his car in a lonely spot, Aldzhal pulled her close and brought his lips down on hers. She turne<l ancl twistecl, beating her fist against his chest, struggling. "Come off it you little rlevil. Surely you tlidn't think that your company was worth all the money I spent on you and that golil digger Zana. Stop playing hard to get and give something in return." The moment she coulcl speak, she pleaded "Afdzhal, please stop. I swear, I don't know a thing. Please stop hurting me and treating me like a tramp. I beg you." She clid not scream knowing if help came it would mean exposure, humiliation and shame. She broke into violent sobs. She had lost the thing she treasured most. Her self-respect and all for pretty clothes. She was a fool! Suddenly, the need to fight him was over. He stoppecl short. He was stunnecl to silence. This was one reaction he did not know how to cope with. Desperately, he drove her home. Liz tolcl her room-mates cverything the next morning. But it was not the last. Zana stormecl in their house ancl for the next ten minutes held the floor abusing Liz. This was no sophisticated, chic city girl. This was a vicious, unscrupulous lady who solcl innocent girls to the highest bidder. This was the true Zana. Liz sat there with a silent smile. At the encl she tireclly saicl 'You can't hurt me anymore Zana. Now get out, before I throw you out.' liter that evening they sat and talked. Add asked the last question, "Do you love him?" "Yes," she sighed. "I do an<l I will for a long, long time." A week later, Liz was a happy girl. With the help of Rina, her uncle and aunty forgave her ancl were reacly to welcome her back. Only one matter remained unsettled. Thc gifts. Liz wanted to give them back but Afdzal was adamant. "Tell Liz that I never take back what I've given." he told Rina. But Rina kept a secret from Liz. We taiked on and on, cvorything that nceded to be known was told. He was still the same old Adam only a little matured. He still had the habit of biting his nails whenever he was in a tight-spot and still went berserk at the mention of his idol, George Michael and was still the sentimental fool he was seven years ago. "Remembcr the post card you gave me when I was moving....here it is!" the postcard folded into four was the same one I gave him nearly seven years ago as a souvenir. It was worn out. I looked at him. "Why?" "We had some goocl times together, I didn't want to lose it." I studied his face which was as clear as it was seven years ago. He had a false tooth on his upper gum. He lost the tooth trying to protect me from a group of bullics. He had lost weight but looked as macho as ever. He glanced at the clock and quickly stood up. "I'd better leave, Ida!" "So soon?" I said. He nodded and quickly went to our neighbour's house; the one that was in terrible need of a plumber! CATEGORY B 4TH. PRIZE ]\{AIIINA BTE MUSTAPIIA 4 CERDAS }WY LIFE AS A REFUGEE. I am Nyuyen Vo Hong. I am a girl aged sixteen and at the moment I am in Darwin, Australia. I have learnt a lot these months and I would like to share with you what I have gone through. I came from a rich family in Saigon, Vietnam. 25 October 1978 is a day I can never forget. It was a day which changed mv entire life. My whole family was caught by the Viet Cong and we were made slaves by them. At night we were placed in a dark room together with about 500 people in it. It was smelly ancl dirty, the stench came from the dead bodies that were in there together wilh us. I could hear cries of hunger and torture all around me. Fortunately, we had a sum of money which enabled us to bribe the guards. The guards however were reluctant to let all four of us go. My parents were prepared to let me and my brother go for thcy believed we had a better reason to survive. I had no choice but to leave in tears. With the remaining money, once again we bribed the immigration officers to escape from Vietnam. It was a matter of life ancl cleath. We ha<l to escape as soon as possible. We were lucky! On 28 October, we managed to get a place in a fishing boat whiph was full of refugees. When we set sail, we were happy and relieved to leave those savage people. As I lay on the floor, I made a track back through memory lane. I lirst came to this rubber plantation thirty one vears ago. Then. I was only a schoolboy. To come to think of it, I was nol evcn scirooling then. My parents in Mersing passed away in a road accident when returning from a wcdding ceremony. That lcft me alone as i was the lone child in the family" I was twelve and my nearest relative was Uncle Dorai who lived a hundred kilometres north. That's when I came here. I knew then that I should be put to study as my age was still young. But things were tough at that time. I never even brought up the question about my studies to my uncle. Not that he would object to my request, I just felt uneasy as my stay with them was already a burden. And I knew then, when my studies came to a stop, that my life was entirely in this four-cornered estate. But never had I thought a day like tomorrow would come. How cruel! The days flew away and things started to change but not drastically. Uncle Dorai passed away a few years later and I was the sole bread winner in the family. I would work from dawn till dark to earn some extra money. The surroundings became partners and companions of my life. The huts, the hospitals, the plantations, the school, my garden, the cemetery and some occasional wedding ceremonies were my life routine. And every day I would work because I had a widow and slx children in my working hands. I didn't want the children to become like me, uneducatcd. I asked my aunt to put them to school. She did. And cvcnthough it meant extra.work for me, I didn't bother. I was used to it already. I even skipped meals before this. It wasn't something new to me. After all getting them educated was my meal. Later on, more changes started to dawn. Murali, my second nephew was offered to further his studies in Kuala Lumpur. I was more than glad when he broke the news to me. I still kept my smile broad when he announced the five digit cost for his studies. I look into his eyes and popped out a quostion. "Do you want to go?" he nodded. Straight away I brought him to the office to meet the boss. I demanded for some lund as they never gave any incentives before. They refused, yct again. But that didn't stop me. We among the rubber tappers ourselves, collected some fund and some authorities helped a little. Finally, one national scholarship board noticed Murali's plight and helpcd him. Murali went to Kuala Lumpur. Not long later, my aunt passed away. I was very confused and down. She was the only person I was so close to. Shl: was gone. A11 the other family members were also gone too. The thrce girls jn thc family got married atier finishing their studies. One had intentions of trying his luck in the city. And Murali was still studying to pursue his dreams of becoming a doctor. And that left me to take care of only one person - myself. I never had intentions of getting married and having children. So I lived alone and things were not the same as before. The estate grcw quict and passive. Or maybc I was the one getting passive, I didn't know. But the rcst o1 thc years passed quietly until the day, the blue black Mcrcedes Benz rolled into our estate. I didn't know what happened at the office but the next word was 'leave'. Some ridiculous factory was to be set up at the site and the rcst was to be turned into a golf course. It came as a bombshell to me. Where am I going tomorrow? What am I going to do for a living tomorrow? I don't know. 122 "No!", AI the air almost st "Mother! Fatherl He slowly moved looked around hr a twelve year old He wiped his tear ir. Before n from it. THE PATH ANNABEL TOOK It was only five clays away from Christmas and Annabel had promised herself no matter what she would drag herself out of bed early the next morning to do some cleaning up around the house. Despite the chilly morning at 6.30 a.m, Annabel groped for her shrilling alarm clock that hacl clisturbecl her early morning slumber. She got up to prepare breakfast for four people - her father, mother, sister and herself. Then she changed into a comfortable outfir and started cleaning the house. Since the misfortune which befell her mother four years ago, this was a year in ancl year out routine for Alnabel. While Annabel was tidying up the books on the book shelf, suddenly she came across her 1987 diary. She flipped through the pages and read one which was written on the 14th of March - the day her mother's life changed and so did Annabel's. Annabel was only 15 years okl then. Like most children Annable believed her mother coukl clo anything. She was an active woman who played squash, sewed all her children's clothcs ancl was also an excellent cook, and Annabel was amazed at her mother's accomplishments and bcauty. Occasionally when thcre was a party at home, Annabel's mother wouitl spend hours clecorating the house with flowers and moving all the furniture asicle to make room for friends to dance. But it was Annabcl's mother who loveil to danco most. Sucldenly Annabel's mother was flat on her back, confined to a hospital bctl. It. was like a nightmare - she was paralyzed when she was involved in a car accitlcnt which clamagecl her spinal column. When the accident occurrcd fcrur years ago, Annabel's sister, Amy was only one year olcl. Leaving no choice, Annable had to be a 'mother'; to her little sister at the tender age of fifteen. Under her mother's instructions and guidance, Annabel hacl learnecl to change her sister's diapers, made milk and took good care of her baby sister. By the time Annabcl finished reading, her vision was blurred by tears. "Annabel...Annabel...." Her thoughts wore disturbed bv a knock at the door. "Yes, mother. What is it?" asked Annabel as she quickly wiped off her tears. "You have becn crying, haven't you?" said Annabcl's mother as though she could read her daughter's' mind. "I know it's been hard on you during the past years," she continued. "You have to study and help to take care of this home at the samc time. But wc have to accept this fact as part and parccl of litc. It is all dcstincd"' Soon Annabel ancl her mothcr were chatting about the happy ancl sorrorvful moments thcy sharcd. As the theatre was closing after a succossful show that night, Linda went out of her make up-room. With a mink coat covering her body, she began to step into the gravel path leading towards the park. She tucked her hands insirle her coat pockets as the night breeze was blowing towards her direction. As it was already past midnight, the whole town was silent except for a few vehicles passing along the street. Dim lights and uninterrupted sounds of vehicles were the only signs left. Linda walkert in gloom without sensing her surroundings. The <Iimly lit lamps illuminatecl her walk towarrls the park. She began to reminisce the day she ran from her father's power. He wanted to control her life. She had just graduated from a well-known university ancl her father wanted her to work for him immediately. She hacl planned the escape for four years and she even changed her name ancl had a face lift to avoi<l any trace. This was also necessary for her so that she could achieve her real ambition as an actress in America. Eventhough Linda was born with a silver spoon anrl given everything money could buy, she lacked love. Her nanny, was the only friencl she got ancl thanks to an old acquaintance, she achieved hcr real dream. Maxi, whclm she met ycars ago aclvised her 1o satisfy her heart's desire. "You are the one who cletermines your own destiny," she once said. Now, after seven years in New York, she was enjoying the glamour of being a famous theatre actress. Ancl offers hacl came from numerous film companies. Unfortunately the plans turnecl meaningless due to her father's appearance. He would do everything in his power to stop her career and clrag her home with him. That was what he suggested that nighr. Linda couldn,t say no to him for she hadn't the powcr to do so. She was also in a state of dilemma hearing of Giovanni's schemes from her father. "I love being with you," he once cleclarecl. She smiled widely. But now, all the love for him had shatterecl to pieces. The park situatcd ncar the river bank was a goocl place to watch ships passing by. Weakly, Linda sat down on one of thc bng benches. "I'm emptying my stomach to make solne room for you my dear. Ha! Ha! Ha!" He laughed hcartily. "No! I'm not going to let myself be his dinner." I picke<l up myself, gathered my strength and (what else do you think I'd do) ran away as I hacl never run before. I continued to run, for my life until I reached the end of the alley. After it, there was nothing, complete nothingness. No road, no lane and it looked like outer space. "How can this be, have I reached the end of this world?" I looked back, the monster was still alter me and he was getting closer and closer. I made up my mind and jumped down. I felt myself flying. Suddenly I landed on something hard. "Nooooo!" I cried out. "Honey! Wake up, you've been dreaming." I opened my eyes ancl saw my mother's face. I was really happy and hugged her thanking God I was still alive. Fadzilah bt. "Melissa you mud-face! Give me back my hair-dryer!" shouted Mandy as she banged her young sister's bcdroom cloor. Mrs. Tan shook her head. Everytime Mandy had a date, the house was in a moss. There were always screams and yells and shouts. And Mandy had many dates until she met her boyfriend. She sighed, thinking it was better than to have Mandy locked up in some asylum. Mandy had a problem. She had a split personality ever since she was young. The other side of her was bad, obnoxiotts and evil. It was like Mr. Hyde and Dr. Jekyll. Whencver she's thc other half, she would curse, spit, scream and swear at anybody. Shc wouldn't recognise her family. And to make matters worse, her condition worsened after her father's death. They never knew the causc of her split pcrsonality. Thcy tried to help her. I u $ 0 "Peter? Honey! I have to see you tonight. Will you please be at the old railway shack at ten? Okay, bye honey. I love you." said Mandy, smiling. Peter put the receiver down and pondered. . "Funny, what's so important that she has to see me right away?" In the meantime, Mandy prepared herself. She pulled out a dagger which was carved magnificently. She smiled while stroking it and hid it under her sweater. She then made her way to the shack. Peter arrived precisely at ten. Mandy was already there leaning against the door. She smiled and proceeded to unlock the door. Peter breathed <leep, inhaling the damp air. He looked at the sky. It was a silent night. There were no stars in the sky but the moon was full and shone brightly. "Wow! It's dark in here!" said Peter as he walked in. "I'll light some candles," Manday had earlier prepared several candles to be lighted. But it was still dim and the atmosphere created was somewhat cool and romantic. As Mandy opened a window, a light wind was felt. Peter suddenly felt chilly. He shivered. He moved to sit on an old cushion. Mandy went to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "I miss you" she said. "Miss me? I am by your side all the time and you stitl miss me. I got it! It's Lila right? Mandy, I'il never be unfaithful to you. I'm yours forever," he said. 'Forever.' Mandy thought. 'If I don't do it now, I'm going to lose him and we'll never be together forever. I must do it! I must!' She took the dagger out and struck into Peter's chest. [t went right through his heart. "Mandy.....Why..." Mandy pulled the dagger out and stabbed herself. As she fell to the floor, she held him for the last time and whispered. "Because I love you...forever...." As the wing blew, two shadowy figures holding hands danced through the night......... God created love, Adam and Eve practised it, Mandy and Peter died for it.
