Innovation keeps us in the air.
But it starts on the ground.

LETICIA & SPENCER

In order to become America’s regional airline of choice, our view of the
horizon needed to be different than our competitors. That’s why we
encourage and empower our Associates to share their bold and gutsy
“what if?” ideas: ideas like addressing the pilot shortage by creating our
own flight training school, LIFT Academy, which is creating opportunity
and jobs no matter your background.

It’s that kind of agile, forward-thinking, can-do attitude that makes
Republic Airways different. It’s not just our technology that’s innovative.
It’s the creativity and belief in the possibilities that allows our people
and our company to soar.

We are Opportunity Elevated.

Eric Sutphin,
KPMG - Indianapolis
Managing Partner

KPMG and Junior Achievement

COVID-19 created unprecedented challenges to education in our city, state, country and world. We identified
ways to continue to demonstrate our dedication to lifelong learning and organizations, like Junior Achievement,
that play a significant role in the journey. Our collaborative efforts provide equitable access to transformational
learning opportunities to nurture talent and enrich lives. Lifelong learning is a journey of growth where knowledge
and skills make all the difference and where we support students along their unique paths to success.

It is with these beliefs and commitments that we create and collaborate to drive innovative, high-impact programs
and initiatives in our communities, for better. Our collaboration with Junior Achievement and our flagship
Community Impact program, KPMG’s Family for Literacy (KFFL), are two wonderful examples.

Literacy must begin early in life. Students who cannot read at grade level by the fourth grade are less likely to
have future success and more likely to drop out of school. And, every year, over 1.2 million students drop out of
high school in our country, according to the U.S. Department of Education. These are the facts that drive us to
understand the conditions that influence these issues in order to make a broader impact in local communities and
the world at large.

For us, it starts with KFFL as we work to eradicate childhood illiteracy by putting new books into the hands of
children in need and developing the next generation of young leaders through reading. KFFL, in collaboration
with the award-winning nonprofit social enterprise First Book, has provided more than five million new books to
children in need in more than 100 communities across the United States since its inception in 2008.

Our relationship with Junior Achievement is a critical component in how we further support education to help
develop the diverse talent pool needed for our future leaders. We collaborate with Junior Achievement to prepare
and inspire young people to succeed in the 21st century across career exploration, life skills, entrepreneurship,
financial literacy and philanthropy. Within the past year, we collaborated to create JA Finance Park Advanced®, a
program designed to help high school students better understand how to manage money by letting them select
simulated life scenarios and challenging them to successfully manage their finances.

This year, more than ever, we at KPMG are honored to receive a U.S. President’s Volunteer Service Award
from Junior Achievement. I am proud of our volunteers who have donated their time to serve Junior
Achievement across the country and of the KPMG professionals who serve on Junior Achievement boards
in their cities, including our own Mark Shaffer, who is a Junior Achievement of Central Indiana Board and
Executive Committee member.

As a local KPMG partner, our commitment to Junior Achievement of Central Indiana makes me especially proud.
With your ongoing support, we can continue to instill lifelong learning and empower young people to own their
future success!
