Bicycle Race Nousa Sayasane Nikhamhoung Pasomsouk
Children were practicing riding bikes in the front yard in preparation for a race. Nula only got to watch them. She wanted to join them, but she didn’t have a bike. 1
Xay saw Nula watching them. He asked, “Do you want to bike together?” Nula answered, “I want to go, but I don’t have a bicycle.” 2
“Oh! It’s alright! You can use my bicycle. We can take turns using the bicycle and practicing!” 3
Xay helped Nula practice biking. 4
They practiced biking everyday after school. 5
6
One evening as they were practicing, Xay hit a rock and fell down. 7
Everyone stopped their bikes and hurried to help Xay. 8
The friends took Xay to the doctor who said, ” You have to rest and temporarily stop biking!” 9
Nula said, “Don’t worry. You’ll recover very soon.” 10
Nula borrowed Xay’s bicycle for her practice. 11
She practiced and practiced every day. 12
On the day of the competition, both Nula and Xay joined. Everyone was surprised to see Xay participate in the competition along with Nula. 13
Nula tried to pedal the bike quickly. 14
Nula didn’t give up. She tried to bike as fast as she could. Everyone cheered her on. 15
They finally reached the finish line. “Hooray! Nula and Xay were very happy!” 16
