Anna and Stacy were the best of friends and were enjoying the last few summer holidays at Anna's home. It was nice sunny day and they were busy running around the yard and making sand castles. 2/11
Suddenly Stacy heard a low mew.She ran after the noise. There it was, a small brown and white kitten hidden in the bushes and mewing. It looked hurt. 3/11
Anna and Stacy picked it up and saw that it was hurt near the leg and ants were around the wound. Anna called her mother and she came with a small shoe box. Her mother picked it up carefully and put Kitty on a soft cloth. 4/11
They went inside home , mother cleaned the wound and put some cream on the kitten’s leg. She must be hungry Anna said.She filled a bowl of milk and put in front of kitten.But it could not get up and lap up the milk. Why don’t we use a small dropper? Stacy said.Mother fetched a dropper and together Anna and Stacy fed her. 5/11
They named the kitten Caramel because it was brown in color.Anna and Stacy took turns taking care of Caramel and in a few days it was fine and was playing with them.They taught it tricks to play with wool and to catch a ball.They spent their evenings running with Caramel and tickling its neck. Caramel loved the attention. 6/11
One day a big brown cat came near their home.She was purring and mewing.Caramel was also mewing and trying to jump the fence. ”Looks like that is Caramel’ s mother and it has come looking for it. We should let Caramel go “ said mother. “No !” Anna and Stacy shouted.She is our pet, we love her.We cannot let it go anywhere. 7/11
”But darling listen, imagine if someone kept you away from me.Will you like that?” Mom said. “No, I don’t want to be away from mom”. Anna and Stacy said together."Then you need to let Caramel go." Anna and Stacy moved ahead to let Caramel out of the basket and to its mother. mother. The cats started licking each other and nuzzling. 8/11
Anna and Stacy were sad to leave their new friend and went inside home.Mom made a nice cake to cheer them up. 9/11
The girls were a bit sad the next morning when they were getting ready for school.But they were happy that Caramel found its mother. When they were walking to school, they heard a mew, they looked back and found Caramel walking behind them to school! They were so excited.They played with her till they reached school.Caramel stopped near school and walked back to its mother. 10/11
From then on, every morning Caramel accompanied Anna and Stacy till school gate and they remained the best of friends! 11/11
