Mangoes come in various shapes, sizes and colours including yellow, orange, red and green. It is a very popular fruit in India, and that is why it is also known as ‘the king of fruits’. Sour, unripe mangoes are used to make chutneys and pickles as side dishes or eaten raw, dipped in salt, black pepper, red chilli, lime, or sugar. A popular thick juice, called ‘Aamras’ is made of mangoes with sugar and milk, and is often consumed with roti or rice. The mango fruit and leaves are ritually used as floral decorations at weddings, public celebrations and religious ceremonies in India. 10/10
