Chapter 1 - Establishing Colonies
Samuel de Champlain (also known as Father of New France) establishes
Quebec in 1608. New France then established relationships with the Huron
Indian tribes. Native people then started to trade with the Indian Tribes.
New France and Huron tribes then became biggest enemies with the iroquois
tribe.
Chapter 2- Trade
The french colonization became very close with the Indian tribes because
they know where the beaver are located. Beaver is a big trade item with
the french. The French colonization begins to heavily rely on their
relationship with the Native Americans. Another trade item was Alcohol which
then caused problems.

Chapter 3- Expansion of the French Empire
Due to the fur trade the French empire expands. Catholic Jesuit
missionaries attempted to convert indigenous people to christianity in the
interior. Fur traders also settle in the interior were they then established
forts and forged a relationship with the Native American Allies. The Jesuit
Missionary goes throughout the colony trying to convert native people.
However the Natives aren't really open to the conversion.

Chapter 4: A Slow Expansion
The Jesuit Missionary covers vast territory. However the expansion is a
very slow one. This expansion is slow because New France has very cold
weather. There are threats against the Iroquois. Lastly there is no cash
crop for profit.
Chapter 5: Leading to War:
By the time of 1750 the french colony gets larger in land size. The
government of New France becomes almost completely autocratic. Meaning
there were no elected representative assemblies and no trial jury. Three
wars then broke out King William's war, Queen Anne's War, and King
George's War.
Chapter 6: The Three Wars
King William's war was from 1689-1697 which lead to the balance of power
between England and France being maintained.

Queen Anne's War lasted from 1702-1713 which leads to British taking
over Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, and Hudson Bay from New France
King George's War lasted from 1742-1748 which lead to a peace treaty
that gives the fort back to France which angered the colonists because
they wanted this land.
