Migration project

My Migration As A Snow
Goose

Aiden Pesquera

My Birth

I was born in the Canadian arctic tundra. There were many
other baby geese besides me, and finding food with my family
was quite hard because everyone else was eating all the
plants. Once I was 42 days old and i was able to fly on my
own my parents told me that it was finally time to migrate
south for the winter. They told me It’ll take only a couple of
days to get to California where we’ll stay until the Spring.

My Journey

The migration isn’t very long. We travel up to 1,500 mile a day
and we only have to go about 2,000 miles. On the first day we
traveled across the midwest of the U.S and stopped to eat
some crops in farms while we rested up for the next day. In
the morning we began to take flight again.

The Humans

We were finishing our migration to california and everything
was great. That is until I started to hear loud bangs and
everyone around me began to stop flying. Even my parents
began to stop flying as the loud noises continued more and
more of use stopped flying and fell. I continued on with the
rest of the flock until we reached our new home.

My new home

As i arrive in my new home I notice that all the other animals
there don’t like me and my flock. I also noticed that there
aren’t very many animals there either. I pay no attention to
them and i began to eat all the different kinds of food all
around me. There’s so many different kinds of food that some
days I don’t know what to choose. I miss my parents but my
journey was successful and I’m now preparing to travel back
to the North to make a family of my own.
