Secondary device suitable. A quality device at a very attractive price.

D

The SKINIAL concept - two methods
Brightening with the Fad'it-Safe technique and Fading-EX

Almost all competitors of SKINIAL only lighten the skin, but do not really remove the
colours. If only a lightening is desired, SKINIAL FADING-EX is the solution. This can be
applied using an easy to learn FAD'it-SAFE technique and leads to a lightening of the
skin. For a complete removal of the pigments, several treatments of the same area are
necessary.

The treatment with FADING-EX is perfect for tattooists. Even larger areas can be
treated easily in only one treatment, e.g. to prepare a cover-up.

In contrast to a laser treatment, the skin is not injured in depth and heals quickly.

D

Removal with the Skin-Do-Ma technique and EX3 + EX4

Removal serum EX 3 (PMU) and EX 4 (BODY)

Although many competitors talk about a distance, this is not the case in reality. Because
only the patented SKINIAL SKIN-DO-MA technique (Skin-Dot-Massage) is able to
completely remove pigments from almost any area after the first treatment*.

Why is this so?

The primary reason is the applied removal technique. In addition, Serum EX 4 (for body
tattoos) or Serum EX 3 (for permanent make-up and microblading) is needed so that the
markophages release the colour pigments. However, complete rejection is only achieved
if there is an open area (wound) and the skin is not only penetrated by small points
(holes). These close again within a few minutes and do not bring complete removal
success. With the SKIN-DO-MA method, on the other hand, the skin repels the colour
pigments for several days - as long as the scab is on the wound. This transports the
colour pigments to the surface of the skin, but also requires more medical knowledge.

*Exceptions due to medical causes or treatment errors are possible

D

Removal device

Which removal devices are suitable?

Basically all common micropigmentation devices are suitable for laser-free tattoo removal. The only
requirement is the suitable needles. These may protrude a maximum of 0.5 mm from the device or
cartridge during operation.
If you do not yet have a pigmentation device, the SKINIAL S 400 or the S 200 are perfectly suited for
any kind of pigment removal. Tattoo devices are not suitable, because they are usually too strong and
have a too high speed (An exception are small, weaker devices.

Needle size and shape

For safety reasons, only cartridges with disposable needles are recommended. For the FAD 'IT-SAFE
technique classic 3' round needles are best suited, as they are also used for permanent make-up.
The single needle should have a diameter of about 0.3 mm. "Micron needles" are too thin.

D

D

How the rejection of pigments works

How can it be that the color rises from the dermis?

With the SKIN-DO-MA technique, the colour pigments released by the macrophages are repelled to
the skin surface as part of the natural wound healing process where all foreign bodies are rejected.

When the FAD'IT-SAFE technique is used correctly, small channels created by the pigmentation
needles open for a short time. The serum can seep through these openings to the colour pigments.
Subsequently, the colour pigments released by the macrophages are transported to the skin
surface as part of the natural wound healing process.

Health and safety E
For your own safety and that of your customers
IMPORTANT
INFO

 Each treatment is documented with before-and-after photos

 Every customer is informed comprehensively in a conversation lasting at least 30 minutes
about the treatment and possible side effects. All documents are kept for five years.

 The consultation, treatment and aftercare are carried out according to standardised
checklists.

 Since 2009 SKINIAL has experience in 26 countries in over 500 studios with more than 7,000
treatments per year.

E

Every treatment is legally an assault and battery

As any treatment constitutes bodily injury from a legal point of view
(in Europe), for your own safety you should observe the following:

1. Inform your customers comprehensively (form + photo presentation)
2. Make sure that the information and the declaration of consent are in writing and

signed.
3. Take treatment photos and notes, document and archive them.

E

Hygiene

Hygiene practices vary from country to country. If you observe the following rules, it will help
you - no matter where - to prevent illness and increase safety.

The following points must be observed for every type of pigment removal.

• Application of the generally accepted rules of hygiene
• Devices whose use injures the skin must be disinfected* or, if necessary, sterilized and

cleaned before each use.
• Practitioners must observe personal hygiene rules

H

The customer education

Consultation

Below you will find the most important document of your future activity. After the training you
can download these forms at any time in the SKINIAL PORTAL. The form is your "life
insurance". You cannot say it clearly enough. "Never do a treatment without the client having
filled in and signed the form".

The form consists of three parts:
Customer information + medical history sheet + declaration of consent

H

Procedure of the consultation in three steps

1. Customer education (see Checklist 1)
 Introduction of SKINIAL
 Advantages of the method
 Risks and side effects

2. medical history sheet
 Personal details
 Health status to check the ability to treat
 Recording of the course of treatment

3. before and after pictures
 Show customer presentation with
before and after pictures
 Customer signs declaration of consent!
 Check whether everything has been
filled out correctly

H

Anamnesis sheet - explanation of terms

Eczema/psoriasis Eczema is a non-infectious inflammation of the epidermis. You should not
treat at this point. In the case of psoriasis, the epidermis becomes horny. Psoriasis is not
contagious, but genetically predisposed. Triggers can be external stimuli, which is why you
should only treat smaller tattoos in these areas.
Diabetes People with diabetes generally have an increased risk of infection and wound
healing disorders. However, treatment is possible.
Taking medication At least six days before treatment, antibiotics or cortisol preparations
should be discontinued. Preparations for colds are no problem. If you are taking any
unknown medication, you should have its effect and safety confirmed by your doctor.

H

Anamnesis – explanation of terms

Anaphylactic shock In very rare cases, the chemical stimuli of tattoo removal can cause a
life-threatening immune shock to the body. Affected customers are usually aware of the risk.
Then call the emergency doctor immediately. If it is known that customers have a severe
allergic reaction to tattoo colours, you should not treat under any circumstances.

Hemophilia If a hemophilia is known, no treatment should be given.

Convulsive disorders (epilepsy) Since convulsive disorders can also be caused by stress and
tattoo removal is stressful for the body, treatment should only be carried out under the
supervision of a doctor.

Smokers Smoking, alcohol and drugs lead to long-lasting redness, so that healing delays of
several months are possible.

H

Anamnesis – explanation of terms

Cancer In case of cancer, you should not be treated while chemotherapy is ongoing. Do not work
on pathologically changed skin areas, moles can hide cancerous ulcers. When in doubt, ask your
doctor. Otherwise, tattoo removal with SKINIAL is not a problem, even with existing cancer.

Warts Due to the risk of infection, tattoos around warts should not be done.

Autoimmune diseases In the case of autoimmune diseases, patients should
decide for themselves what risk they want to take and whether they want
treatment.
Chron. Infections (Hep. B.) In the case of chronic infections there is a high risk of infection for the
person treating the patient, so that treatment is not advisable.
Redness If severe redness occurs, a longer healing pause should be taken.

FH

Anamnesis – explanation of terms

Allergy Treatment for pollen allergy is unproblematic. However, in the case of metal allergies, the
treatment can be dangerous due to the colour molecules contained in the needle or released by colour
molecules. If a latex allergy is present, gloves without latex should be used. It should also be noted that
tattoo dyes can cause skin diseases, vascular inflammation or lichens.
Pigment spots Moles and liver spots should not be treated. Treatment is possible for freckles, café-au-
lait stains, lentil stains and age spots.
Pregnancy + lactation There are no medical reasons against treatment at the beginning of pregnancy.
However, to avoid risks, you should not treat during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Others Do not treat fungal infections and warts. Dark skin types should be advised of the increased
risk of pigmentation disorders and scars. This also applies to climate zones with high humidity.

H

Information about the tattoo

Age of the tattoo The older, the less pigments are contained. A whitening is only possible four
Where is the tattoo located? weeks after the sting; a new treatment or tattoo only after six to eight weeks.
Professionaly stabbed
Treat particularly sensitive areas (such as neck, elbow, ankle, foot, hand, bend,
finger, wrist) with care. Be careful with a cover-up: these often contain large
amounts of pigment and are more deeply engraved.

If so, it's okay. If not, then it was often stabbed too deep. Often then too much
color was put into the skin.

H

Information about the tattoo

Type of ink Usually the type of ink is unknown. You must therefore always expect reactions
Scars (hypertrophic/keloid) due to toxic components in the inks and consequently an increased risk of
Pretreatment hypertrophic scars or allergies.

The treatment itself rarely causes scars, as only the epidermis is scratched and
lactic acid is converted into lactate after only 30 minutes. Reasons for scars are
rather bad aftercare, allergic reactions to toxic colours, genetic predisposition,
friction, UV rays...

During previous laser treatments the dermis is often (pre-)damaged and burned.
This means that natural rejection is no longer possible. With the fingertip you can
often feel these irregularities under the skin.
=> During a previous laser treatment, a patch test must be carried out to check
whether the colour can still be rejected or whether the skin is already too badly
damaged.

Skin details H

Hyperpigmentation Hyperpigmentation is often hereditary. Only in rare
Wound healing disorder cases it appears for the first time during tattoo
removal.
Many people suffer from wound healing disorders,
have poor scarring, already hypertrophic scars or
sensitive skin. In such cases, it is important to note
down and document these already existing scars
accurately and comprehensively before treatment!
Nicotine, drugs and other causes sometimes lead
to significantly prolonged healing phases and long
phases with reddened areas.

H

Explanation of terms - Declaration of consent

yes / no questions If questions are answered with “yes", you should
Agreed for weaving purposes deepen the conversation. If you have any doubts, it is
better not to discuss.

A declaration of consent for advertising purposes is
free to everyone. If there is no declaration of consent
from the customer, photos may not be used, posted
or passed on. An internal use towards customers is
permitted.

In addition, note down anything important that comes to your attention. If, for example, a
holiday in the south is planned after the treatment, the customer already has scars that
indicate poor wound healing, document it.

If more serious problems than infections, allergic reactions or scars occur, the customer
should consult a doctor.

H

The importance of careful advice

In the event of a legal dispute, the first argument that the lawyer brings to the other party is
almost always that the customer has not been properly informed. If you do not have
documentation of the clarification, you would usually already have lost and the other party does
not have to prove that you made a treatment error. Rather, you are guilty and it can cost you
thousands of Euros.

Make sure that the client's expectations are realistic so that you surprise them positively rather
than disappoint them. Because if the customer wrongly expects a "perfect removal" with a fast
healing and subsequently "virgin skin" again, unnecessary trouble is already pre-programmed.

Take your time to document every treatment properly. Mostly, problems only occur years after
the first treatment and you then have to provide complete proof that everything has been done
correctly. Without proper documentation you will have a bad chance later on.

H

Which treatment - fade or remove?

SKINIAL uses two different techniques

SKIN-DO-MA® technique (Skin - Dot - Massage)

The SKIN-DO-MA technique is a unique patented SKINIAL technique where the colour
pigments leave the skin completely after the first treatment. The application of the technique
requires specialist knowledge and some practice, but in 95% of cases it is possible to remove
the pigments completely.

FAD'IT-SAFE® technique

The FAD'IT-SAFE technique is an easy to learn technique that removes the colour pigments in
several steps. The technique is very gentle on the skin and involves virtually no risk of scarring*.
The method lightens the treated area. Good results can be achieved relatively safely from the
very beginning.

* Subject to dermatological diseases and genetic predisposition

H

3. The preparation of the workplace

• Prepare the workplace
o Disinfection of the table
o Disinfection of all utensils
o Accessible placement of all products
o Connecting the removal device
o Important! Take a photo of the tattoo first

• Ensure a comfortable position of the client during the treatment
• Disinfect the surfaces and equipment to be treated to prevent infection

I

FAD'it-SAFE - brightening treatment

What distinguishes the two treatment methods?

SKIN-DO-MA® => Distance => Removal means EX 3 (PMU) and EX 4 (BODY)

• The classic SKINIAL method with the DOT technique, where the colour on the treated areas
is removed after one treatment.

• Requires basic medical knowledge and/or good cosmetic training.
• Treatment heals in the course of wound healing.

FAD'it-SAFE® => whitening => Removal agent FADING EX

• This is a gentle method that has practically no side effects. The skin is only punctured for a
short time, so only a little pigment can leave the skin per treatment.

• At the same time, a larger area can be treated.
• Shortly after the treatment it is hardly visible that the area has been treated. Visible wounds

do not develop.

I

Components of FADING EX and differences to EX 3, EX 4

What does Fading EX consist of?

• Body identical, physiological lactic acid as EX 3 + EX 4
• 20% lactic acid with 5% di-panthenol (maintains and increases the pH value)

Difference between EX3 and EX4

• The liquid is more skin-friendly and less aggressive than the juice of a lemon (citric acid).
• The FADING EX serum is cheaper, your margin is higher.
• Customers do not want the traces of the treatment to be visible for a long time. Therefore, rather rely on

multiple treatments and discreet healing.
• For sensitive skin a gentle slow removal is important. EX 4 and EX 3 is sometimes perceived as too

aggressive by these customers.

I

The advantages of FAD'it-SAFE

Brightening instead of removing

The classic SKINIAL method is called SKIN-DO-MA, which is derived from the abbreviation (Skin-Dot-
Massage). FAD'IT-SAFE is composed of the English words "fading" - for fading - and "safe" - how safe.
This underlines the fact that this method is very safe and hardly any wound healing problems are to be
expected. However, a 100% guarantee can never be given. Problems as they occur now and then with the
SKIN-DO-MA technique are rather unlikely due to the significantly lower injury to the skin.

Advantages for the customer

• You can treat contiguous areas of up to 5 x 5 cm in a single session (also both eyebrows in one
treatment).

• FADING EX is especially suitable for sensitive skin.
• A single corrective treatment is often sufficient for subsequent pigmentation.
• You avoid the often optically/aesthetically unpleasant dots with longer healing phase

It should be noted, however, that the colour does NOT usually come out completely with a single
treatment. Usually several treatments are necessary, which are carried out at intervals of about six to
eight weeks.

I

The FAD’it-SAFE method
What to consider before the treatment

Remember that EVERY client must fill out and sign the consent form.
Prepare the client and the area to be treated carefully.
Before treatment with FADING-EX you do NOT have to do a patch test, because the irritations
are minimal and healing is not a problem.

I

Technical treatment details

• Use a pointed, smaller needle (cartridge) e.g. 3 R (round). The needle must not be too thin (no
microns) and no 1 needle. The stitch canal should have a certain width, otherwise it will close too
quickly after treatment and only a little pigment will be rejected. For this reason Micro-Needeling
or the Dermaroller is not suitable.

• The needle length should be about 1 mm, i.e. twice as long as with the Skin-Do-Ma technique.

• You do not need to shave the eyebrows.

• First clean the area to be treated carefully and then disinfect it with MEDICLEAN. Afterwards you
should not wipe or dab the area to be treated, because otherwise it is no longer sterile. Wait one
minute and let MEDICLEAN dry.

I

The application of the FAD'it-SAFE technique

• Hold the treatment device perpendicular to the skin.

• Place one point next to the other with a steady hand by moving the removal device up and down
with a steady hand. Per square centimetre there may be 50 points (small channels). You may
also treat the same spot twice.

(Photos enlarged)

I

The course of the treatment

• Start (right-handed) at the top left and work down
to the bottom right.

• Immerse the needle into the distance serum again
after every five to six punctures. Clean the needle
on a compress before.

• When you have treated about one square centimeter, wipe the treated area
vigorously with a compress. The dressing will then contain the rejected
pigments.

The wound canals close with the fibrin again after a few minutes. During this time the color is repelled.
Thanks to the Fad'it-SAFE technique, the skin retains its firmness and regenerates very quickly.

I

Aftercare

• After treatment and final cleaning with a compress, you should spray MEDICLEAN on the treatment
area for disinfection.

• Let the area dry afterwards.
• As a rule, you do not need a bandage - a light encrustation will fall off by itself.
• Always give the customer a bottle of SCAR CARE CREME 5 ml to care for the treated area after it

has dried and any crust has fallen off.

-> Usually no visible wounds appear after the treatment and the redness usually disappears after a few
days, so that shortly after the treatment hardly anything is visible anymore. Occasionally, smaller crusts
can still develop, but these fall off quickly.

I

Inform the customer each time

Important: As soon as the treated area is closed and dry, take the "after"
photo" for proper documentation.

The customer should pay attention to the following during the aftercare:

• Keep the treated area dry and clean until a possible wound scab is
removed.

• No scratching, rubbing or removal of possible crust.
• Do not go unprotected into the sun (use e.g. "COVER X skin tone" as

UV protection).
• Do not apply make-up over the treated area immediately (for PMU and

microblading), as there is a risk of infection. After one day the make-up
can be removed without danger.
• The aftercare sheet, which is handed out to the customer for each
treatment, should be followed.

I

These products support aftercare IMPORTANT
INFO

Mediclean - Disinfection without alcohol, prevents infections
and inflammations and thus improves rapid wound healing.

Scar Care Cream - Due to a high percentage of active
ingredients, it causes a fast regeneration of the skin. Only
apply after wound closure, ideally one day after treatment.
Supports healing and prevents redness.

CoverX - Protective film (like silicone) against friction, UV
radiation (skintone) and moisture. Can also be used
temporarily, e.g. only for the duration of showering and
sunbathing.

Repair Gel - Cares for the skin during major tattoo removals
and prevents drying out.

I

The importance of aftercare IMPORTANT

Whether or not a scar will develop after the tattoo removal is decided decisively by INFO

the aftercare. Normally the epidermis heals without scars, but wound healing can be

hindered.

• Aggressive UV radiation leads to protective reactions of the skin, which reacts CoverX skin tone
with the overproduction of collagen (hypertrophic scars). „COVER X skin tone"
is suitable as a temporary protection as a countermeasure.

• High humidity and wetness lead to an interruption of the rejection reaction as
the scab becomes soft and falls off (also temporarily, e.g. by showering or
swimming). Here too, the application of COVER X is suitable as a protective
measure.

• Friction on clothing, jewellery, belts, underwear, can remove the scab and even
after the natural fall of the scab (when the skin is still vulnerable and thin) can
lead to skin irritation and overproduction of collagen (hypertrophic scar).
Air-permeable plasters or temporary covering with COVER X are suitable as a
countermeasure.

COVER X is available as (skin tone) with UV protection and (clear) without UV protection.

I

Last but not least ! IMPORTANT
INFO

Disposal

• The waste resulting from a treatment is considered hazardous waste and used needles must be
placed in a needle container.

• Clean the work surfaces carefully after each treatment.
• Disinfect all equipment, furniture and areas that have been touched.

Do not forget: Documentation (very important)

"Once confronted with a complaint or the authorities, you will NEVER forget the documentation!"

• Keep the consent form in a safe place
• Complete the consent form after each treatment
• Label and secure the before-and-after photos on your computer (not only on your mobile

phone!) every day; pay attention to the privacy of your customer data

I

A few practical tips!

4 details that are important for the treatment:

1. Do not press the needles too firmly onto the skin. Nevertheless, work quickly and with pressure.
2. Always work 1 mm beyond the pigmented areas, as the ink in the skin slips away slightly to the

side due to the pressure.
3. Plan the course of treatment in advance.
4. Start the treatment from the top and work downwards. Always work from left to right (applies to

right-handers; left-handers from right to left).
5. You can easily treat both eyebrows in one session with this method.

J

Removal with the SKIN-DO-MA method

Specifics of the removal method SKIN-DO-MA®

Advantages

• Each treated area is normally free of pigment after one treatment
• You can make very precise removal. Font, characters, individual motifs or distortions can be

removed quickly and precisely.
• In combination with laser, borders, contours or colours can be removed first, whereas the

laser removes larger areas and shades efficiently afterwards (!). Always use SKINIAL first,
because in case of burns after laser treatment, SKINIAL treatment is not possible anymore.

Please note

• After each treatment, a small wound develops, which usually heals without scars. However,
the individual wound healing ability and aftercare is decisive.

• This method is not suitable for removing large tattoos
• Remember to offer a tolerance test before the first treatment.

J

Consideration before starting treatment

• Carefully plan the treatment and its course in advance
• PMU as well as BODY tattoos of category I (name tattoos) and category II (tribals) are

treated by means of the A-B-A-B system. Category III tattoos (flat tattoos) are only useful
with this method for smaller tattoos (6x6cm).
• Since a small wound is created, every customer should be aware that he has to live for
weeks with visible treatment traces or redness. For body tattoos under textiles this is no
problem.
• For eyebrows and lips the FAD'it-SAFE method is recommended for aesthetic reasons if the
customer does not want visible treatment traces.

J

3 basic rules of the Skin-Do-Ma technique

1. The ideal size of the dots

The dots should not be too small and not too large (ideal is 0.5 - 1.0 cm), because the healing
of a wound is always from the outside in. This prevents that, due to the increasing
Tensile forces due to the movement of the limbs and the skin, scars appear.
• Small wounds usually heal without scarring

2. No injury to the dermis

The epidermis is only roughened, the needle does not touch the dermis at any time.

3. good massage is everything!

The secret of a complete removal of pigments lies in the correct massage of the area to be treated.
• Skin-Do-Ma technique
