Spotlight on CCISD’s Early Childhood

Intake Center

The Early Childhood Intake Center (ECIC) evaluates students between the ages of 2 and 5, who are not in
a district preschool classroom, to determine if a student has a disability and a need for special education
services. Students come to ECIC based on parent referral or referral from Early Childhood Intervention (ECI).
Parents are able to call ECIC when they have concerns with their child’s development and schedule a screening
appointment. ECIC has screenings on Wednesdays and conducts evaluations and meets with parents the
other days of the week. The ECIC assessment staff consists of two core teams who coordinate with additional
assessment personnel when needed for student
evaluations.

The assessment team includes:
• Sarah Sifford, Licensed Specialist in School Psychology
• Scarlett Wood, Educational Diagnostician
• Tracy Keller, Speech and Language Pathologist
• Cheryl Baudains, Bilingual Speech and Language
Pathologist
• Julie McGill, Assessment Team Teacher
• Karen Holiday, Secretary of the ECIC Assessment Team

For more information about the Early Childhood
Intake Center, call 281-284-0330.
