Saawilay Four other Channel Islands are in easy reach

of Jersey – as is France! So while you are in

this part of the world, why not pop over to

Guernsey, Alderney, Sark or Herm.

Guernsey is the second largest island and its bustling and
cosmopolitan main town, St Peter Port, offers cobbled streets,
fascinating history and great shopping. There are also beautiful
beaches and lovely walks.

Alderney is just eight miles off the French coast and yet it is
often described as the most British of the Channel Islands with its
elegant capital St Anne. Despite being just three by one and a half
miles, Alderney offers golf, fishing and breathtaking countryside.

Sark boasts 40 miles of beautiful coastline and as there are no
cars on the island it is a haven of peace and tranquility. You can
walk, cycle or even explore in a horse and cart! A great day out.

Herm’s hotel has no telephones, television or even clocks but, a
little under a square mile in size, the island does have great walks
and sandy beaches (pictured).

The French coast is just 14 miles from Jersey – you can even
pop over for dinner, although remember to take your passport.
You can pick up euros in Jersey Post’s Broad Street branch as well
as from the 24/7 ATM.

The charming towns of St Malo, in Brittany, and Granville and
Carteret in Normandy, are easily accessible and, like the other
Channel Islands, are served by regular ferries.

But you can just as easily do as the Jersey locals do and charter a
boat with a group of friends and set your own timetable!
