MMTA Chairman’s Message

It is an honor to have been selected to serve as the Chairman Jeff Bouchard, President
of the Maine Motor Transport Association and I would like to H.O. Bouchard, Inc.
thank Alan Reed for his service to the trucking industry these
past two years. As we transition back to some semblance of
normalcy, I want to encourage MMTA members to engage in the
trainings and events that have made us one of the most effective
and respected trade associations in Maine. MMTA can’t be
successful without members and members can’t be successful
without the many professionals responsible for moving freight.

Which is why you are reading this magazine. Championship Saturday was held on May 21st in Bangor
and what a great day of competition it was. There were professional drivers at Dysart’s – young,
old, rookies and past champions – all showing up with their talent and knowledge for a fun day of
camaraderie and competition. We also had skilled technicians who spent the day at Eastern Maine
Community College, showing judges and spectators why they are the best at keeping our equipment
safe on the road. Between the drivers and the technicians, it’s no wonder why these competitions
collectively have been called the super bowl of safety.

So as you read on and see the accomplishments of these amazing professionals, please recognize
and further appreciate their positive impact on highway safety and the effect they all have on our
economy and our everyday lives. Congratulations to all those who competed at the TDC and the PTSC.
