Obituary Tyrone Lamont Jones, son of Gregory Powell Sr. and the late Regina Jones was born on September 5, 1965 in Baltimore, Maryland. He sadly departed our lives on March 31, 2023 due to a lengthy illness. Tyrone aka “Big Ty”…”First Born!” received his education through the Baltimore City Public School System. Tyrone loved his family…especially his kids. He loved to spend time doing things with the family. Tyrone was a jack of all trades. If you needed a meal cooked or had a taste for grilled food he was the man for the job. If you needed an ice-cold snowball or just a good old car wash, he was the man for the job. If you needed security, he was the man for the job. If you needed help moving or something fixed, he was the man for the job. Hey if you needed a house built, Tyrone was the man for the job. He loved hanging at his old stomping grounds out in Cherry Hill where he grew up and was loved by so many. He loved going fishing with his big cousin “Keebie.” He loved spending time with his aunt Necee who affectionately called him “Roney.” They had a very special bond and he could do no wrong in her eyes. Tyrone took his big brother “First born” role very serious and loved trying to boss his little sisters “Sam & Trease around like he was their father. You could always catch Ty dressed from head to toe with a “slick” pair of sneakers and a matching hat. Tyrone had a heart of gold and will be missed by many. Dear Ty, I can't believe I am writing in your obituary. I remember daddy bringing you to our apartment in Glen Burnie. I was just 4 or 5 years old then. I'm 44 now. Daddy would always bring you to our house to take you skating with our brothers Greg, Guy, Garrick and even Joy would go. Our cousin Zachary would even go. I was too little and shy and would always stay back with my mom. We all loved you. And you always expressed how much you loved all 5 of us. I'm so sorry we didn't have more time to talk big brother. I remember through the years I lived in Baltimore you would check on me and ask How is my baby sis doing? You alright? And you would tell me how proud you are of me. I will miss you forever Tyrone. I already do. You look so much like daddy it really hurts to see all your pictures now. I'm thankful you’re at peace now. No more pain big brother. You made it first. We will see you again. But for now, we will always keep your memories alive. Thank you for always loving us. We always loved you too! Love you king. Sleep well. Love your baby sister, Priscilla. Tyrone It’s been an honor and a privilege to be your sister!!! Always in my heart!!! I love and miss you Ty! LaTrenda aka Sam Dear Pop To my Dad… Now this world is a little smaller. We will always keep you with us and keep our family together. Thank you for the endless lessons. You left us but you also embraced us so much. Gave us our wings, showed us our heart. was strong. So as you now rest in heave, We have a plan to always protect your kids and never forget you was the man. We love you POP! We are going to miss you. Remember everything you taught us. Your grandkids say “Love you POP POP” So until we meet again, you will be in our minds every second. Love you, Tyrone & Shamia My first born son, I knew I was a man. I saw him coming and I said “Here I Am.” Yeah he was my partner. He was a strong guy. He was tough, he was handsome… Here when I think how he’s gone and I think about the time I first met him and I say “My First Born” My little man. I’m gonna miss him dearly. I’m gonna really miss him very dearly. I love him so. He was really great in all the sports. My problem was, which way was he gonna go, Because he was so strong, he was so so sports athletic… Tyrone I love and miss you dearly already, Love, Daddy
