Jack and the Beanstalk

Once upon a time, there was a poor boynamed Jack who lived with his kind motherin a small old house. They did not havemuch money and owned only one cow.Even though they were poor, Jack was abrave and curious boy who always wantedto help his mother.


One day, their cow stopped giving milk.“Jack, we must sell the cow to buy food,”said his mother.Jack’s mother decided that they must sellthe cow to buy food. She asked Jack totake the cow to the market and sell it formoney.“I will do my best, Mother,” Jack replied.


On his way to the market, Jack met a strange old man.“Good morning, boy,” said the old man.The old man offered Jack some magic beans inexchange for the cow.“These beans are very special and magical,” he said.He said the beans were very special and magical. Jackbelieved him and agreed to trade the cow for thebeans.


When Jack returned home and showed thebeans to his mother, she was very angry.“Where is the money?” she asked angrily.She was disappointed because Jack did notbring any money.“These are magic beans!” Jack said.In her anger, she threw the magic beansout of the window.


The next morning, Jack woke up and sawsomething amazing.“Mother, come and see this!” Jackshouted.A huge beanstalk had grown outside hiswindow, reaching high into the sky. Jackdecided to climb the giant beanstalk tosee what was at the top.


At the top of the beanstalk, Jackfound a giant castle. Inside thecastle lived a huge and scary giant.“Fee-fi-fo-fum!” shouted the giant.While the giant was sleeping, Jacktook a bag of gold and quickly ranaway.


Jack climbed the beanstalk again anotherday and found a magic hen that could laygolden eggs and a magical harp.“Lay!” said the giant, and the hen laid agolden egg.But suddenly, the giant woke up andshouted angrily.“Stop!” he roared.He chased Jack down the beanstalk.


When Jack reached the ground, hequickly cut down the beanstalk with anaxe. The giant fell down and neverbothered them again. Jack and hismother became rich and lived happilyever after. The moral of the story is thatbravery and smart thinking can help usovercome difficulties.


This classic fairy tale teaches us about courage,adventure, and making wise decisions. Jack and theBeanstalk is a magical story loved by childrenaround the world.
