“Blood of my blood,” he whispered, “and bone of my bone. You carry me

wilna let ye go.”—Dragonfly in Amber
Dear Love in Lost Times Friend,
I was late to come to the Outlander books by Diana Gabaldon. My intro-
duction was the Starz epic series that so beautifully brings her work to life.
After Season 1, I read the entire collection in a single summer! I was mes-
merized by the details of the time and place, as well as the idea of traveling
back to the past—something that has always intrigued me.
In the process of curating this collection, I met so many interesting artisans
who are keeping the past alive through their creative passions. I hope you
will read their unique stories in these pages. I want to thank you for sup-
porting their work!
And now pretend it’s 1743...
Slip on your Swarovski bangle bracelet...fill your Jacobite glass with a fine
red...sample this delectable fudge...throw your Celtic herbs into the fire and
make a good luck wish. Wind down the evening with a luxurious Scottish
floral bath and pretend you’re in the mystical Highlands. You deserve it!
kcWarmest regards,
Karen Colburn, Lead Curator
