Random Acts of Flowers improves the
emotional health and wellbeing of individuals

in healthcare facilities by delivering
recycled owers, encouragement

and personal moments of kindness.

This is our mission. It’s why we exist. To change the lives
of some of the most vulnerable members of our
communities – one day, one bouquet at a time.

While our focus is on that simple moment of kindness, we
have learned that our mission has a far greater impact.
Certainly it affects the emotional health and overall
wellbeing of those who receive our beautiful bouquets of
recycled flowers. But we also know our mission helps
ease the way for families and caregivers, creates
meaningful connections for our volunteers, and nurtures a
culture of care and compassion by inspiring others.

We are grateful for the passion and devotion of our
volunteers, whose numbers increase with every month.
And we are appreciative of our donors, sponsors and
partners who give us the financial support and other
resources to continue to grow our
mission and thereby multiply our
impact to literally hundreds of
thousands of people.

Improving Health and Wellbeing

A 2016 study conducted by the University of Tennessee
School of Medicine confirms the positive impact
deliveries from RAF has on patients.

• Almost 95% of patients reported that the unexpected delivery of
an RAF bouquet improved their overall emotional wellness, with
73.5% reporting “extreme improvement.”

• Additionally, the study affirms that RAF encourages an
underserved population, with 81.1% of respondents reported
they had not received other gifts of flowers outside of the
Random Acts of Flowers delivery.

• 11.3% of the sample reporting that our volunteers were the
only visitors they had during their hospital stay.

Delivering Hope and
Encouragement

Studies1 consistently show that hospital patients with
flowers in their rooms need less post-operative pain

medication than those in rooms with no plants.

RAF was recognized by the Daughters of the

RAF is helping nurture compassion in children through a partnership
with a new toy company, Renegade Made®, that
specializes in altruistic craft and activity kits for kids.
Their "Random Acts of Flowers" kit contains
materials and directions to make 12 tissue paper
flowers in a cardboard vase. Kids create the
flowers and encourage someone else by
hanging the vase in a public space. The kits are

Sneak Peek An early look
at Fiscal Year 2016-17

In October 2016, Random Acts of
Flowers opened its fifth branch in

Indianapolis, IN. The branch served

nearly 2,500 people battling injury,
illness or the effects of aging during

its first three months in operation.

Popular HGTV celebrity
Chris Lambton shared in
our mission and helped
raise almost $290,000

in revenue across all
locations through our

events.

“The deliveries...Wow! Every one of them was different. But the one thing that was
the same – and the thing that I won’t forget – was how much it meant to each person
I sat with and handed a bouquet to know that some stranger, someone they’ve never

met, cared enough to bring a little joy into their day.” - Chris Lambton

We continue to be an innovator in the nonprofit arena. In
December 2016, we introduced the RAF Patron Society as a

new financial model in Chicago and Knoxville branch
followed suit shortly thereafter, eliminating the distraction of
fundraising events and placing greater focus on our mission.
