NSS Dyal Singh College organized a cleanliness drive on 14th October, under the clean India campaign 2.0, in the college campus. NSS Volunteers were divided in groups of 5 people, provided with trash bags, brooms, they covered the entire campus. INDIA 2.0 CLEANLINESS DRIVE CLEAN REORGANIZE YOUR WORKSPACE Under its drive of clean India 2.0, the NSS Unit of Dyal Singh college took an initiative of “Reorganize Your Workspace” on 20th October 2022. It was done to make people more conscious about the importance of a clean work space. As it is said, a clean space flowers a clean mind. Decluttering and cleaning your space will make you focus and work better. Before you leave, take a minute to clean. 49.


The NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College has come up with a new reel on the subject matter of waste management under it's drive of Clean India 2.0. According to the 5 R's, four actions should be taken, if possible, prior to 'recycling': refuse, reduce, reuse, repurpose, and then recycle. Reusing, repurposing, and recycling enables us to make full use of these items. In other words, these items do not end up in landfills before they have been used fully. By implementing the reuse, repurpose, and recycle practices, you ensure the complete use of every item even when it has served its primary purpose. This offers the optimum use of every product item. Hence, we should strive towards a more greener and cleaner environment by using the 5R's. INDIA 2.0 5 R' OF WASTE MANAGEMENT CLEAN 50.


EVENTS The NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi organised a Poster Making and Essay Writing Competition with the intent of educating and generating awareness concerning the social structures of the Indian Society. The main goal of this event was to promote social harmony among us. The topic for the competition was ‘Unity in Diversity is better than Unity in similarities.’ We received good number of registrations. 30st OCTOBER' 2022 POSTER MAKING AND ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION Many people including the NSS volunteers took part in the initiative. The event was conducted in online mode and the deadline was 30st October 2022. The event went on smoothly. The results were announced shortly after. 51.


INDIA 3.0 PLOG RUN The NSS unit of Dyal Singh College, organised a 'plog run' in order to promote healthy lifestyle under the drive of 'Fit India'. A plog run is a unique and creative idea which combines fitness with cleanliness. In this participants collect litter while jogging. The event took place on 2nd of October on the juncture of Gandhi Jayanti 2-31 OCTOBER 2022 FIT Webinar on Mental Health Awareness A webinar on Mental Health Awareness was organized by NSS Dyal Singh college in collaboration with Mounee consulting on 10th October 2022, in adherence with speaker Dr. Veenu and Ms. Parul Sharma. The speaker provided data on how suffer with mental illness worldwide. In form of games, they gave us valuable information regarding their impact on our mental health. Event was also attended by our program officer, Dr. Jyoti Paul. 52.


INDIA 3.0 INTERACTIVE SESSION ON MOUNTAINEERING The NSS unit of Dyal Singh College, organised an interactive session on mountaineering on 14th October. The speaker was Ms. Megha Parmar, first woman from Madhya Pradesh to climb the Mount Everest. She is also the brand ambassador of the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' campaign of MP government. Insight on importance of good health and opting for correct workout that benefits one's life was understood. FIT VOLLEYBALL MATCH The NSS unit of Dyal Singh college organised a volleyball match on 15th October, in order to spread awareness on fitness and to showcase fitness as easy and fun. The match was organised for NSS volunteers only. it aimed to provide a unique and thrilling opportunity towards making India healthier by including physical activities. 53.


The NSS unit of Dyal SIngh college organised a "Run for Unity" on the occasion of Unity day which is celebrated in order to memorialize the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabbhai Patel. The event was organised at two venues. The first one was marshalled from Dhyandchand national stadium and ended at India Gate. The event was honoured by our Home minister, Mr. Shri Amit Shah, finance minister, Mr. Jaishankar, minister of state for culture Ms. Lekhi, Lieutenant governor of Delhi, Mr. Vinai Kumar and winners from Common Wealth Games. The other was conducted in the college under supervision of our principal and program officer. INDIA 3.0 FIT RUN FOR UNITY 54.


NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College Conducted a One Day Training Session on Fire Hazard and Earthquake Preparedness with Delhi Disaster Management Authority. The session was jointly organised by The Disaster Cell of our College. Our Nss Unit conducted a one day training programme under Shri Sushil Singh Ji, Special CEO , Delhi Disaster Management Authority, Govt. of NCT of Delhi on Fire Prevention and Earthquake Preparedness. This was conducted in view to aware students about Disaster Preparedness. 17th NOVEMBER' 2022 MOCK DRILL BY DDMA Disaster education aims to provide knowledge among individuals and groups to take actions to reduce their vulnerability to disasters. During the last decades, the issue that trained people can be prepared for disasters and responding well has been extensively investigated. The main aim of this session and was duly fulfilled as the session was attended by 30 NSS Volunteers and 80 College Students. 55.


In order to commemorate the Constitution Day of India, the NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College in collaboration with POLIS and the Political Science Department of our college, organized a seminar on 25th November in the college Auditorium. The event was on the occasion of one of the most special occasion of our country i.e. Constitution Day in adherence with the esteemed speakers’ Professor Rekha Saxena and Professor L. Pushpa Kumar. The event was attended by more than 100 students of the college including the freshers as well. Dr. Jyoti Paul, the Programme officer of our unit was also present there to observe the event 25th NOVEMBER' 2022 SEMINAR ON CONSTITUTION DAY They made us understand all the topics in the best possible way. Cloth Donation Drive The NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College, was delighted to organise the “Cloth Donation Drive” from 23rd December to 31st December 2022. Donation is about making a difference and this exactly was our goal, to make a change. We put up the poster on 23rd on our Instagram handle and asked everyone to share their moments with us. The glimpses are shared on our social media handle. We did the second drive on 18th January where all the NSS volunteers bought clothes from their home and also asked their relatives and friends. We gathered in the amphitheatre of our college and divided ourselves in the group of five each. Then together we went to the nearby temple and streets to distribute the clothes. The smile on their faces was worth the efforts. 57.


EVENTS An enlightening and motivational seminar was organised by the NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi, in collaboration with Brahma Kumaris on the topic - 'Finding Hope in Adversity' on January 5, 2023. In the course of the seminar, the listeners were explained the salient attributes of hope and optimism in all circumstances. The speaker of the event, Mr. Brahma Kumar Piyush explained the listeners the need of early sleep, self-confidence and self-ways of self-inventing in a very interactive manner. Activities related to these were also conducted in which every student enthusiastically took part in. The speaker also explained how important smile and being happy in life is with various real-life examples and demonstrations that were interesting and encouraged the students to go towards a healthy mental health. 5th JANUARY' 2023 FINDING HOPE IN ADVERSITY The event was a great success and was attended by over 55 students with 40 NSS Volunteers present. The objective of the seminar was fulfilled and it created a high energy zone with the interactive activities and it also started marked the start of the our NSS Unit's activities in this year 58.


The NSS unit of Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi in collaboration with some other important societies of the college and Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, GOI has organised an Awareness program under Mission life of Indian Government on 12th January 2022, under the supervision of Dr. Jyoti Paul (Programme Officer). The main objective of the program was to create awareness of potential among all youths which is one of the most celebrated issues in Contemporary in India. The seminar was attended by some official of Government of India including the Honourable Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change who was also the Speaker of the Program. Keeping Swami Vivekanand as an ideal he inspired the youth present there to improve its lifestyle and contribute for the welfare of nation and society. He also focused on the importance of Impact of small initiatives and individual actions towards community welfare. His way of Explaining the Idea through stories and Connecting issues with each other attracted the Idea of everyone present there. Overall, the Program was highly successful in explaining the idea of Youth Awareness and Mission Life. 12TH JAUNARY'2023 SEMINAR ON NATIONAL YOUTH DAY AND MISSION LIFE 59.


EVENTS The NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi, celebrated the Aadi Shaurya Parv- ‘Festival of Parakram’ by attending the event held in Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium of Delhi on 23rd and 24th January. The NSS volunteers volunteered to attend the dance festival organised by the Ministry of Defence and Tribal Affairs and the Government of India. Along with 20 tribal dances, all Indian military forces stunned the hearts of the audience by giving many thrilling performances. 23rd-24th JANUARY' 2023 AADI SHAURYA PARV In between the program, Padmashree, famous Bollywood playback singer Mr. Kailash Kher was also presented. Honourable Lok Sabha President Shri Om Birla Ji inaugurated the programme. On this special occasion Tribal Work Minister of Central Cabinet Shri Arjun Munda Ji and Minister of State for Defence and Tourism Mr. Ajay Bhatt Ji were also present. The programme was a success presenting the culture and heritage of tribals and also showcasing the bravery of different armed forces. The glimpses of the event is shared on our Instagram handle 60.


EVENTS The NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College, University of Delhi attended the celebration held by the college on 26th January. The celebration was attended by mostly all of our NSS volunteers. On this special occasion many cultural dances were held along with flag hosting and speeches by the esteemed guests. The 74th Republic Day was organised with a sense of togetherness, neglecting all diversities and feeling proud to be an Indian. We showed respect to the national flag and took part in making our nation reach the higher heights of success. The team of NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College visited an NGO on 25th Feb 2023. The visit helped to create immense awareness among the volunteers regarding the way NGOs work in order to serve the needy and the unprivileged. The volunteers not only visited the NGO, but also spent some memorable time with those kids. They played some fun and informative games with those kids. They also taught them some values for life through their games. Furthermore, the kids were also given some stationary items in order to perform better in their academics. The volunteers also made them understand the value of education. 25TH FEB' 2023 NGO VISIT Throughout the visit, the volunteers and the kids of NGO had a great time together. The visit was a great and innovative way to train the upcoming generation about the values. And those kids also made the team realize that happiness comes with innocence and not only money. The NSS Unit of Dyal Singh in collaboration with some other societies like the Women Development Cell of the College organized a One day workshop on Self Defence Training and Demonstration in order to make the youths aware of different techniques to handle and respond to any kind of possible external violence. The training camp was open for the girls of the college, keeping women safety and its measures in mind. Trained women personnel from Delhi Police came themselves to demonstrate and train the volunteers and prepare them for unexpected circumstances. With all physical trainings , they also made us acquainted with some important women helpline numbers which we can reach out in the hour of need. 11TH APRIL' 2023 ONE DAY WORKSHOP ON SELF DEFENSE Volunteers were highly enthusiastic and all of them came forward to practice all the demonstrated moves. The event was a great initiative towards the betterment of the condition of women safety and self dependency. 63.


The NSS Unit of Dyal Singh College organized a seminar on cyber crime and cyber security act in India on 13th April 2023, in the college itself. Dr Kiran Chaudhary, an associate professor of Shivaji College was the esteemed speaker for the day. She passed on numerous significant information regarding the cyber crimes and the measures through which we can keep a check on it. She further gave us information on Cyber terrorism, Cases under IT, ATM fraud, E-mail bombing attack and various other ways through which one could be cheated online. She further gave us information about how we can tackle these problems and the acts provided by government for our e-security as well. The entire seminar was highly interactive and the volunteers were also keenly and enthusiastically asking out their doubts and queries from the speaker. ACHIEVEMENT The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in association with the government of Karnataka organised the 26th National Youth Festival at Hubballi-Dharwad, Karnataka, from 12-16th Jan 2023 in which our Volunteer Akanksha Singh represented University of Delhi along with six others. The five day long festival was celebrated as the Green Youth Festival, where only reusable cutlery, napkins etc., were used. Besides that, all the mementoes, medals and stationery used at the festival were made of reusable material. 71.


ACHIEVEMENT Three of our volunteers Saroj, Akanksha Singh and Ayush Anand attended the ‘YUVA SANGAM’ One week exposure visit and a student exchange programme under“Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat” in which JNU Delhi was paired up with NIT Silchar. It provided an immersive, multidimensional experience of various fields under five broad areas of ‘Paryatan’(Tourism), ‘Parampara ‘‘(Traditions), ‘Pragati ‘(Development), ‘Prodyogik’(Technology) and ‘Paraspar Sampark’(People-to-people connect).It also provided first- hand experience of living in a completely different geographical and cultural scenario. 72.
