Happy December Rotaract District 7030! December is one of my most favourite times of the year, because of not only the sights, sounds and food but it is
one of the few times where the entire world joins in to promote peace on earth and good will to men and women. I also like this month as it presents the
opportunity for introspection on the year gone by and planning for the year ahead. While in Rotary, December is only the midway point of our year, we
should still take time to ponder on where we are and where we would like to go. As Hall and Simeral puts it ‘the more reflective you are, the more
effective you are,’ but this only comes about when our self-assessment leads to intentional action that will change the future. Introspection was also the
goal of our recently concluded District Leadership Training 2017, where we were encouraged to rediscover our S.P.I.C.E.-Selflessness, Professionalism,
Innovation, Commitment and Endurance as we serve humanity. On behalf of our Rotaract District, we extend once more heartfelt gratitude to the
Rotaractors and Rotarians of Grenada who worked tirelessly to ensure that our stay in the Spice Isle was memorable.

In Rotary, December is dedicated to Disease Prevention and Treatment, which is at the heart of the organization’s areas of focus. By supporting education,
providing clean water, promoting peace, protecting mothers and children, growing local economies and fighting disease through vaccination campaigns,
Rotary is playing an active role in advancing health and wellness in our world. At a District level we continue to encourage clubs to raise awareness on
Lung and Breast Cancer, as these are the most prevalent in the Latin America and Caribbean region.

As my DRR Visits continues, I will be visiting the Rotaract Club of Sangre Grande and will be playing catch up as I seek to get back on schedule by meeting
the Rotaract Club of U.W.I. Cave Hill, Barbados West, South Barbados, Barbados, Kingstown, Roseau and Maraval. In spite of the busyness of this time of
the year, I believe that service to others must continue year round. As one writer puts it, ‘the best time to do something worthwhile is somewhere
between yesterday and tomorrow,’ so make your today count as you Make A Difference and Leave Your Mark.
