Message from HOD
The Department of Information Technology is
committed to impart state-of-the education and
develop future technocrats in the stream of
information technology. As in-charge Head of the
Department, I am tremendously proud of my role
in providing high-quality education and offer a
multitude of avenues for students to partake in
continuous learning and also help them to inspire
to acquire industry-relevant skills.
We believe in tailored grooming of each student’s needs by organizing technical
workshops and competitive events such as Hackathons, Seminars from eminent voices
of the industry, which helps them to access every sub-domain in the field of
Information Technology. To bridge the gap between industry and academia, the
CSI students section are actively organizing events listed above/below. Students not
only participate in these events but lead them, thus helping them to improve on
important attributes such as collaboration, communication, and teamwork. Our
annual events like AITSS and Infobits empowers our students to collaborate with
students from other colleges, thus inculcating a sense of community.
Our students have won several accolades at University, National and
International levels.
Our Department’s placement records are unvaryingly high and we are proud that the
number of students who are getting placed is increasing year after year. We have a
strong alumni network who work with renowned organizations such as Shell,
Cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc
I attribute the phenomenal growth of the Department to the winning
combination of dedicated and experienced faculty, brilliant students, and
supporting staff.

Six months ago, the world came to a stand-still. A contagious and deadly virus
had crossed the species barrier and infected humans. Soon it rapidly spread
faster than health professionals could contain it and has infected millions of
people. Socialization was limited as a precaution.
Masks, swab tests, and temperature checks controlled all forms of locomotion.
Confined to these four walls, we had power over one aspect-'time'.
The universe is 13.8 billion years old. Throughout history, we sought to define
this unfathomable expanse called time in an attempt to conquer it, often
complaining at the lack thereof. Yet, when acquired in surplus, we often fail to
optimize it.
With time to kill, we sought new skills, binged on virtual entertainment,
adjusted to new forms of social interaction and work environments as the world
around us changed in immeasurable proportions. Economies fell, stock
markets crashed, unemployment increased and twitter chirped "canceled".
We became immune to these episodes of turmoil and distress. Time became a
series of unfortunate events and humanity was the Baudelaire children.
But the glass is half full. We saw countless heroes rise to the occasion.
Numerous stories of sacrifice, compassion, and charity restored our faith in
humanity. During the lockdown, we saw a massive decline in carbon dioxide
emissions. People spent quality time with their families and reconnected with
acquaintances. We created a support system for each other to rely on.
The pandemic will leave long-lasting changes. As the world gradually and
cautiously emerges from the lockdown, we must accustom ourselves to this
new world.
The theme for this year's issue is -Rejig. Rejig means "to organize differently" or
re-arrange. Here is a compilation of inspirational stories, effects of the
pandemic, and what we can look forward to as we adapt to the new norm. The
future is bright for those who embrace change.

Survey & Rescue Drone
using Waypoint Navigation
Team Members:-Varad More, and Prathamesh Nerkar from IT of batch 2017-2021, Suraj
Mahangade, and Ritoo Verma from EXTC of batch 2017-2021, . (from left to right).
Project Description:
The project was the outcome of e-Yantra Robotics Competition 2019-'20 where we
programmed a Nano drone Pluto-X in the ROS environment to service food, medicine,
and rescue calls stimulated using LED beacons. The drone manages to maximize the
score by servicing all possible calls using a schedulingg algorithm, position hold aided
by Whycon markers, and PID tuning of its Roll, Pitch & Throttle values.
Recognition: -1st Place in e-Yantra Robotics Competition ( conducted by IIT Bombay)
under theme Survey and Rescue.
Poshan Abhiyan Project
Team Members:- Rayan Crasta, Saumya Purohit, Saurabh Kothari, Paresh Pandit, Alen
Biju, Akhil R Abraham, from IT of batch 2017-2021.
Description:
POSHAN Abhiyaan is the Government of India’s flagship program to improve
nutritional outcomes for children, pregnant women, and lactating mothers.
The team developed a multiplatform portal under the Indian Ministry of Women and
Child Development. This innovative solution digitized the whole process end-to-end.
It also facilitates our country's valuable health workers to monitor and stimulates the
alarm when a woman/child does not show up for her nutritional doses. It serves a
wide variety of stakeholders ranging from health workers to end-users. It also helps
bureaucrats make informed decisions by giving them detailed and comprehensive
data analytics.
Recognition:- Ranked among top 4 teams at India Level in Smart India Hackathon
2020.

Subramanium, Rohan Gawhade from IT of batch 2018-2022.
Description:-
Zeta Learn is an innovative web-based learning portal to facilitate online education
among students and faculty. It makes it easy to create exams, continues to notify
students, and also automatically does the weight lifting of calculating test statistics for
individual students. It also empowers the faculty to monitor the rate at which the
individual students are progressing. It also allows the student and faculty to partake in
a discussion forum where students can post their queries.
Recognition:- Secured 1st place in Hackathon organized by Mahatma Education

Amay Tripathi, and Vasudha Sude from IT of batch 2019-2023
Project Description: -
This Arduino RADAR project aims to achieve a radar system prototype based on an
Arduino board, capable of detecting stationary and moving objects..
The object returns a portion of the wave received by the receiver which is in line of
sight with the transmitter.

Social Media and
Collaboration Platform
Team Member:- Dion Pinto, Archit Bhonsle, Arpit Bhat, Omkar Bhabal, Ved Patil from IT
from batch 2018-2022.
Project Description:-
With more software developers each year, there arises a need for them to be able to
showcase their projects and find people to collaborate with. Sup! Is the solution for
creating a collaborative and social environment for developers to use, to not only
enhance their project but also share it with different developers. One of the major
reasons for the creation of Sup! As good as GitHub is for hosting code and having a
remote repository, it is really difficult to find developers who are working on projects
you might be interested in and finding a way to collaborate with them in person, rather
than the fork and request method of GitHub. Sup! Gives its users a chance to socialize
among its peers and find common ground to lay the foundations of their future projects
Machine Learning Visualizer: With libraries like Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, Pytorch etc. the
power of machine learning is accessible to all. The real skill lies within the knack of the
subtleties of various models and the intuition of what various hyperparameters do. The
goal of this project is to take one of the elementary datasets to machine learning –
MNIST. It is a simple dataset used to recognize handwritten digits. We’ll use this dataset
to demonstrate, visually, the effect of varying various parameters to the user and give
them a good intuition of Machine Learning.
