Auctioneers’ Note: WANT TO FILL YOUR ACREAGE WISH LIST?? If so, this acreage has the amenities that acreage buyers are looking for - A location within 1 mile of an oil highway, a dense established grove and other mature trees, rural water and elec- tricity to the farmstead and farm outbuildings, and enough acres for a few head of live- stock with a fixer-upper home or with removal of the existing residence This could be a very desirable location for construction of a new home on a site containing approx. 22.1 acres. This property has potential to meet the needs of a variety of buyers and must be seen to be fully appreciated!
Properties such as this are extremely difficult to find, as this property has a combination of amenities which are difficult to find within one parcel of land, as this property has a combination of existing mature trees, rural water and electrical in place on site, other developed site im- provements and has a few acres of adjacent land for livestock or other conforming use and last but not least - a good location within 3 miles of Colman, SD, within 6 miles of I-29 and within approximately 30 minutes of Brookings, SD, Madison, SD, Flandreau, SD and approx- imately 40 minutes of Sioux Falls, SD. This property has some existing structures including an older 1 1⁄2 story home, single garage with OH door and elec. opener, red and white steel clad machine shed/livestock building (approx. 30’x80’); galvanized metal clad shop building, 2 small metal grain bins, wooden granary, other incidental outbuildings and 1 livestock fountain and hydrants at various locations. This property has a dense mature tree grove on the South- west, West and partially on the Northwest of the farmstead and others at various locations on the property. According to Moody Co. Planning and Zoning, this parcel has 1 rural housing al- location consumed by the existing residence, although with the removal of the existing resi- dence this could be a nice location for construction of a new home. This property includes a total of approx. 22.1 acres which could allow space for a few head of livestock, some hayland and grass for grazing, garden and/or other utilizations. With the location and other amenities of this acreage, this property has a great deal of potential and makes this property a rare find in Moody Co., SD and is a property that truly must be seen to be fully appreciated!

The national political campaign season has begun, if it has ever really stopped in recent decades. Thus, the media pundits gear up to parse every word candidates utter. What do they really mean when they say X, Y or Z? In late 1998, former President Clinton unwittingly highlighted the im- portance of parsing words, attempting to deny, or rather to rationalize, that he did not lie to the grand jury via his infamous statement, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is.” The pundits parse politician’s speeches nightly, trying to define what he / she really meant when stating X. Did he mean X or did he really mean Y, and it became confusing when he also mentioned Z? 50 years of Secular Humanist pragmatic values is evident in nearly every aspect of life.
In recent years, one of the most used terms in political theatrics is “val-
ues,” employed as “American values,” “Core values,” “our values,” “com-
munity values,” “national values,” “democratic values,” or“traditional
values,” ad nauseam. One counselor compartmented within “family val-
ues” – social values, political values and religious values – but then pref-
aced the list with “...every family's list of values will be different, there are
different categories of values that tend to be similar.” That implies, there

are no absolute values. They are ever changing!
Ultimately each person defines values as he /she sees fit. Lance Dickie

illustrated this fluid meaning in an article – “Same-sex Couples Strengthen and Affirm Basic Family Values.” Actually he did not strengthen family values, but rather advocated expanding them to include homosexual mar- riages. His justification is since at that time 20 countries and 11 states had legalized homosexual marriages, we should all simply accept it as part of the norm of family values. Considering such changing values, the candi- dates’meaning when referring to family values depends upon only how he / she defines them. Clearly, their meaning(s) might not be how you un- derstand them.
This brings us back to the school course – Values Clarification. Although that sounds like an explanation of values, in reality it was and is a redef- inition of values or indoctrination of no absolutes. Atheist John Dewey, the foremost Humanist and “Father of modern American education” believed Darwin not only answered the question of origin, but had discovered the governing principle of everything – no absolute unchangeable truth – everything is ever changing. “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do” (Ps 11:3).
