Lynn was the life of the party, had a spirit of adventure, and was a friend to all. He played a key role in the BRBA and was an advocate for construction education. Following Lynn's passing in October 2017, the BRBA commemorated their scholarship program as the Lynn Mennis Memorial Scholarship, which awards money to high school and college students in the surrounding areas that will be going into building trades and planning
to work in South Dakota. All the proceeds from the tournament will be given to the scholarship fund.

Many of us recognize something is drastically wrong in the na- tion. It even appears a bent toward insanity, e..g. transgenderism, even one can choose his gender identity. However, many if not most folks see the malady as financial, e.g. inflation and all the challenges and hardships it causes. Perhaps, even fewer recognize that the na- tional debt is the albatross that will bring down th enation. Some na- tions know the debt is unpayable, the dollar will no longer be the international reserve currency. That nations are forming independent debt settlements exclusive of the dollar is the evidence. Sadly when such instability has occurred to the nations of the previous reserve currencies (500 years – Britain, France, Holland, Italy and Portugal), war was the result. What do these facts have to do with restoring the nation? These are symptoms.
The real cause of these symptoms is rejecting God’s order for a stable society. Returning (obeying) to God’s instruction creates so- cietal stability. Last week we cited the case of England’s fervor live by the Bible in the 16th & 17th century– “it was read at churches and read at home, and everywhere its words...kindled a startling enthusi- asm.... The popularity of the Bible was owing to other causes besides that of religion” (A Short History of the English People;1916). The influence of the Bible affected nearly every aspect of their society. That gave rise to the British empire. And that involved war. Huh? Yes, God used nations that repented as His instrument of war.
The Old Testament reveals God’s punishment of His rebellious na- tion Israel. Example: Jonah was a prophet to Israel (Northern King- dom – NK) (2 Kings 14:23-27). Although they had been steeped in idolatry for over 150 years, God granted the more territory for a time. God sent Jonah to Nineveh, the capital of Assyria (1:2; 3:2). This pagan people repented (Jon 3:5-10). The result was God used As- syria to take NK into captivity (2 Kg 15:29- 17:23). Assyria became God’s acceptable weapon of His wrath because it repented.
