Downtown Brookings Business District Committee Donates $500 to Teen Challenge
The Downtown Brookings Business District Committee of the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce gave $500 to Teen Challenge of the Dakotas in honor of Giving Tuesday, a nationally recognized day that encourages individuals to give back in any way they can. Teen Chal- lenge was chosen for the donation based on the hours they spend dur- ing winter months clearing sidewalks for the downtown small business community.
Teen Challenge of the Dakotas is a faith-based, Christ-centered addic- tion recovery organization for adult males eighteen years and older. Committee member Kelly Odegaard said, “It was an honor to present a check for $500.00 to show our appreciation to the founder of Teen Challenge of the Dakotas. They keep our downtown sidewalks clear of snow in the Winter. Giving Tuesday is a great opportunity to show some love to your local business so we can make a difference in the community.”
To learn more about Teen Challenge of the Dakotas, visit: https://www.tcdakotas.org/
About the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce: Founded in 1938, the Brookings Area Chamber of Commerce continues to be the leading business organization in the Brookings area. Living out our mission of promoting, connecting, enriching, and advocating for the Brookings area business community, we provide endless op- portunities to help businesses succeed. Made up of 500 member businesses, we connect all cross-sections of the business community.

BROOKINGS AREA UNITED WAY AND BOBCAT BACKERS PARTNER WITH AMERICAN RED CROSS TO HOST COMMUNITY BLOOD DRIVE
Brookings Area United Way and Bobcat Backers will host a com- munity blood drive with the American Red Cross on Wednesday, December 14th at the Brookings Outdoor Adventure Center from 12PM – 6PM. There is a critical need for blood donations.
“Brookings Area United Way is committed to fighting for the health, education and financial stability for every resident in the county. One way we can help to strengthen our community and helping meet hospital and patient needs through blood donations,” said Heidi Gul- lickson, the Executive Director of Brookings Area United Way. “This blood drive will help meet the needs in our community. The Brook- ings Area United Way not only works to raise funds to help our com- munity, but we look for other ways we can create impact and get others involved.”
Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross.
“We urge community members to donate blood and help ensure that patients in local hospitals have a supply of blood ready and waiting before an emergency occurs. There’s no better feeling than knowing that your blood donation may give someone a second chance at life,” Gullickson said. The public can register by visiting https://www.redcrossblood.org/ and entering 57006 as the zip code.

LARSON donates $5,000 to Boys & Girls Club
Larson Manufacturing, a Brookings, South Dakota based company which is the largest producer of storm doors and storm windows in the United States, recently provided a $5,000 dona on to the Boys and Girls Club of Brookings.

“We are very grateful to Larson for their dona on,” said Cierra Ste ensen, Director of Special Events and Marke ng for the Club. “The support from our local businesses helps us fulfill our pur pose of providing a caring, safe place for children to learn and grow.”

Continuing the review of the destruction of the USA’s foundation: Our nation’s history and the preponderance of written and oral religious debates (1800-1950) among the various biblical faiths reflect the rev- erence the populous had for God and the Bible as His direct instruc- tion to mankind. The centurylong slide into unbelief came about by the influence of theological liberalism and the acceptance of Secular Hu- manism, declaring each person as his own god and pragmatic rule maker.
Curtis Reese also a Unitarian endorsed godless Humanism. In 1909, he declared God was "philosophically possible, scientifically unproved and religiously unnecessary” – We don’t need God! Over the next 20 years, Reese became a leading spokesman for Humanism, authored a book, “Humanist Sermons,” was an editor of the 1933 manifesto, and a director of the American Humanist Association. Humanism’s evan- gelists boldly declare their intent.
Reese’s contemporary, Francis Potter, signatory of the 1933 Hu- manist Manifesto, honorary president of the NEA, author of “Human- ism: A New Religion” (1930), stated the aims of Humanism using schools. "Education is thus a most powerful ally of Humanism, and every American public school is a school of Humanism."
Fifty years later, John Dunphy wrote, “The battle for humankind's future must be waged and won in the public school classroom by teach- ers who correctly perceive their role as the proselytizers of a new faith: a religion of humanity that recognizes and respects the spark of what theologians call divinity in every human being. These teachers must embody the same selfless dedication as the most rabid fundamentalist preachers. The classroom must and will become an arena of conflict between the old and the new – the rotting corpse of Christianity and the new faith of Humanism.” (A Religion for a New Age; The Human- ist; Jan/Feb 1983, p.26). Fully, three generations have been deceived into thinking our present moral and ethical sewer is normal. Postmod- ernism, Humanism’s offspring declares there is no truth, thus no right and wrong, just choices – normal and unusual.
So, what has been the impact of infusing Secular Humanism into our culture via the classroom? And the impact on Christendom? Next
