In the last article we began to consider Humanism’s impact on the fam- ily vs God’s order of the family.His command – one man and one woman in lifelong monogamous marriage. The biological purpose is to rear the next generation – their children. The parents alone, with no outside influ- ence, let alone governmental meddling, are tasked to rear the children ac- cording to God’s order (Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Ephesians 6:4). God placed the accountability of that order squarely on fathers because he is the head of the family – “For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church” (Ephesians 5:23). What about his wife and mother of his children?
God commands wives to “submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord....just as the church is subject to Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.” (Eph 5:22, 24). Knowing this sinful world is filled with rebellion against God, for a woman who follows God it is in- cumbent she would choose only a faithful Christian man to wed – empha- sis on “faithful.” What woman wants her children to spend eternity in hell?
Obviously, that children are conceived and are born of women point to the dependency of mankind’sfuture upon her God-created biological role. With the advent of artificial conception, man’s role can even be substituted, but not the woman’s. The baby is wholly dependent on the mother for its com- plete development, being made for its birth into the family. Once born, the rearing of the child is a parental joint task, but with the father bearing the God-given responsibility. Considering the eternal consequence, child-rear- ing is an awesome and often daunting responsibility and goal – to lead the children to revere God,become faithful Christians and thereby ultimately to heaven. Again, which woman wants her children to bein hell forever? So does the religion of Secular Humanism respect God’s order?
No, in fact Humanism, by making man his own god (Humanist Mani- festo, 1933) has turned God’s order upside down. Such arrogance has brought us to our current state. Although Humanism was hardly notice- ably, but firmly, planted in the 20th century’s 1st quarter, it blossomed in the 1960s and 1970s with God’s order being nailed to cross erected by Satan. The easy divorce law (1969), the Stonewall Inn riots(1969) followed by the first Gay Pride parades (1970), legal abortion (1972) and the Pill (1960) were the first artillery attacks on God’s order of the family.
