Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course that gives people the skills to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or expe- riencing a mental health crisis such as contemplating suicide. This is an evidence-based program widely used throughout the United States.
The goal of training is to help support an individual until appropriate professional help arrives. Mental Health First Aiders learn a strategy that includes: assessing risk, respectfully listening to and supporting the individual in crisis, identifying appropriate professional help and other supports.
Participants are introduced to risk factors and warning signs for mental health or substance use problems, will engage in experiential activities that build understanding of the impact of illness on individuals and fam- ilies, and will learn about evidence-supported treatment and self-help strategies.
Mental Health First Aid is intended for people and organizations that make up the fabric of a community. Professionals who regularly interact with people such as police officers, nurses, human resource directors, primary care workers, school/college leadership, faith communities, and friends and family of individuals with mental illness or addiction, and community members are encouraged to attend.

We have begun considering how Secular Humanism has modified, yea, reformed the family in stark contrast to God’s divinely appointed order. How did this happen? We finished last week summarizing several aspects – easy divorce law (1969), the Stonewall Inn riots (1969), Gay Pride pa- rades (1970), legal abortion (1972) and the Pill (1960).
All living today have witnessed the obliteration of marriage with the le- gitimization of homosexuality as normal. This regardless of the divine record. Have you ever wondered why God did not destroy a city for its rampant stealing or fraud. History shows that can be the case. The book “USSR: The Corrupt Society” reveals that from the northern lumberjack to the high levels of the politburo were on the take – the currency was bribery. Yet such corruption did not prompt God to wipe it off the map. We have one example of God’s judgment of ultimate wrath – the utter arrogance in re- bellion – licentious (open) homosexuality.God destroyed the entire region (Genesis 19:1-29; Deuteronomy 29:23). God even warns us that their de- struction is “set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire” (Jude 7). Why Sodom and Gomorrah and identical destructions for other sins? Because homosexuality erodes His order of the heterosexual marriage as the corner stone of stable society. Why do we ignore or rebel against God’sdivine order? Brainwashing.
First, now for over a century folks increasingly question (and doubt... re- ject) the Bible as God’s word giving us His absolute virtues of the lifestyle which He expects, yea commands of each of us. God’sexpectation is that people enter marriage as virgins – sexually pure, unadulterated. That has been the challenge of all of man’s existence. As licentious as society has be- come, in recent years I still encounter folks, young folks who entered their marriage as virgins. That is not the norm and especially so with the impact of Humanism which advocates you are your own god, so set your own rules. So folks do whatever makes them feel good at the moment. Recall adherence to biblical principles had been increasingly cast aside for 30 years by the 1960s.
Another erosion factor was the birth control pill. If people did not remain virgins until marriage because of obedience to God, the fear and stigma of having children outside of wedlock, encouraged girls to be the governor of sexual relationships. In 1960, the birth control pill changed society. How? Next
