FOR THE LOVE OF ANTIQUES (AND MORE)
Another year has gone by, and the 52nd Brookings Summer Arts Festival is just around the corner. It’ll be fun visiting all the art booths, sampling the amazing array of foods offered, taking in a wide variety of entertainment, visiting the Living History area, perusing the Edibles and Naturals area, seeing the fun the kids are having in the children’s area. And don’t forget about the antiques area! Nine of the ten booths will be there from last year, and there will be one new one to explore.
The great thing about the Antiques area is that it’s different every year. You never know what you’re going to find. So come reintroduce yourself to the ten antiques dealers, and if you’re
lucky you might find something to complete a collection or even start a new one! The Antique dealers for this year are listed below.
Your 2023 BSAF Antiques Area vendors are:
R. L. Brenner (Chances R) Ethan, SD
Curtis & Irma Buer (Buer Antiques) Canby, MN Kathy Cole (Memory Box Antiques) Burleson, TX Ardella Galvin (Rags to Rugs) Roslyn, SD
Jim & Becky Gladis (Mill Creek Antiques) Chatfield, MN Boyd & Judy Hagenson (BJ's Collectibles) Britton, SD Sandra & Tom Halajian (Sandy's Unique Collectibles) Watertown, SD
Shawn Hoffman (Hoffman's Antiques) Vermillion, SD Kyle Nelson (Bits of Yesterday) Brookings, SD
Prescott Pushor (Northside Antiques) Roslyn, SD
Visit the Antiques Area at the Brookings Summer Arts Festival, Pioneer Park
Saturday and Sunday, July 8 and 9.

Want to be a part of the fun?
Coming from all different walks of life, the committee members of the Brookings Summer Arts Festival all have one thing in common: the desire to create the finest arts festival in the state of South Dakota.
Each year, the thirty to forty volunteers come together once a month to plan and design a weekend of art, food and entertainment for the thousands of people who attend the annual event each year. It takes a diverse group of volunteers to put the festival together, and we could use your help. Please contact us at [email protected] or (605) 692-2787 with any questions and for meeting times.

For nearly a year, we have been considering the “Radical Entrance to Jesus’ Kingdom,” and the Standard (God’s Bible) by which one can have eternal life, as part of restoring the foundation of the USA, once a great nation, so that it can truly be great again. Becoming a Chris- tian and diligently living for Christ might seem farfetched as far as our national well-being is concerned, but only that is so only to the ignorant.
Even a cursory reading of the Old Testament reveals that God ab- solutely controls the existence of every nation– “The instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, to pull down, and to destroy it, if that nation against whom I have spoken turns from its evil, I will relent of the disaster that I thought to bring upon it. And the instant I speak concerning a nation and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it, if it does evil in My sight so that it does not obey My voice, then I will relent concerning the good with which I said I would benefit it” (Jeremiah 1:10; 18:7-10).
His standard must be obeyed in order for it to exist, let alone be prosperous. Consider the ultimate blessing we Americans have en- joyed – No war on our soil for nearly 150 years! And the material prosperity has been unmatched, until recently. We are in decline in al- most every sphere of life. Why? Simply stated, spitting in the face of God is not acceptable in the realm of Divine polity! Rebellion pre- vails.
Note what God told ancient Israel, the nation which He established with laws establishing a stable and prosperous society... nation –“...if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe care- fully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth” (Deuteronomy 28:1). Although Israel was faithful at times, it was usu- ally unfaithful and suffered famine, pestilence and the sword (war). In the end, miserably failed. What
happened? Next.
