PN- Among th Chimps

 

Among the Chimps

We are standing in a village on the edge of the Amazon the 
trees are looming over us. I was feeling thrilled, we are in the 

Amazon. This is so 
cool, I thought! We are 
living here for three 
days I think it’s 
awesome! Tobey, my 
little brother was 
pretending to shoot a blowdart. I pretended to get struck in the 
head and fell to the ground. We carry our bags to the boat and rev 
the engine. As we zoom through the Rio de Janeiero on the boat I 
see numerous birds such as a 
rare orange and black one 
which is a sort of oriel.  
“We’re here,” says my 
dad! I’m bursting with 

excitement! I start up the steps and venture into a leafy tunnel.  
  The mist is growing the further we tiptoe 
and all the sudden it breaks away into 
village built into the trees.  
 “Wow,” I mutter. We stroll into the main 

meeting place and the hand out strange food. It is some herbal 
tea and a assortment of cool berries. It’s all great! All of a sudden 
a jade green parrot swoops in and lands with a thud. Its starts 
waddling around pecking us. We burst into laughter!  “Whats 
going on”  Snorts my sister through burst of laughter. “Dunno, but 
it’s­ ”!Then it walks up to Tobey gives him a clueless look and 
starts eating his food in huge gulps! And there you have an 
average day in the amazon. 

 This story matters to because at point in time I was so 
happy that nothing, not even the ISEE could bring me down! I 
learned that every so often you should have a good laugh and a 
good day!
