The oil palm trees has an economic life span
of approximately 20-25 years, after which
old trees are felled and the farms,
replanted.
Meanwhile, the discarded oil palm trunks
are suddenly available in large quantities,
providing readily available alternative
sources for ourproducts – BIOPLASTIC.
The Malaysian oil palm industry is currently
plants over 5.5 Million hectare and is
expected to be capped at 6.5 Million
hectare. Currently 10%are at the
unproductive age, thus are planned to be
cleared for new oil palm trees, making
available 7.7 Million of trees that can
become biomass each year. The current
practice, cuts and chip the trees on site, and
left to degrade. Currently, a single
contractor can cut down 200 tree’s in a day.
