Knight Electrical Switchgear was founded in 2010 by Dale Turnbull and Russell Knight with the specific aim of creating a quality
driven electrical switchgear manufacturer delivering high quality products.


Based in the heart of Somerset, the company is now recognised as one of the leading switchgear and control panel builders in the
UK. The company can offer a full LV project solution from design concept through to final installation and commissioning, we can
also offer any single element of your LV power requirement.


We manufacture using equipment from all leading switchgear component manufacturers, including Terasaki Electric, Schneider
Electric, ABB, Socomec etc.

We design, build, install and commission Bypass and
Control Panels for UPS applications. 10kVA-300kVA
systems can be supplied to suit any application but we
also offer stock panels available on a standard price list.

DC Isolation Panels…



We design, build, install and commission DC isolation

G59 Panels…


G59 protection panels are used for various types of
generation schemes for grid connection, ensuring
complete G59 compliance. Each panel comes complete

Gland plates (which can be pre-drilled to aid connection)

About: Knight Electrical Switchgear Ltd were asked to

supply, install and commission LV switchgear to
upgrade the current electrical resources to suit the
redevelopment of the shopping centre.





Scope: 2No. Main Switchboards, 3No. Sub Switchboards,
6No. Section Board, 2No. Distribution Boards and
3No. Enclosed 37kW Variable Speed Drives.

Sector: Education






About: Knight Electrical Ltd requested the supply of and assistance to
install a main LV switchboard supplying the Natural History
Museum in London. Completed installation was achieved

within 5 weeks from Purchase order date.



Scope: 1No. 800A Auto-changeover Switchboard, Factory Acceptance
Test and Switchboard installation including positioning,

re-connecting and testing.



Sector: Government Building







About: Knight Electrical Switchgear Ltd assisted in the
upgrade of one of the MoD Abbey Wood building
back up supplies and were requested to design a LV

switchboard to match the upgraded generators.





Scope: 1No. Bespoke, Form 4 Type 6, 3200A Generator
Switchboard complete with mechanical/electrical

interlocking and device accessories wired to
terminals to interface with the generator specialist.





Sector: Energy






About: Knight Electrical Switchgear Ltd were asked to supply a be-

spoke changeover panel suitable for the installed wind tur-
bines. Due to a pending G59 commissioning date the panels
were required on a very short lead time




Scope: 1No. Bespoke auto changeover panel complete with additional
outgoing devices to feed local site supplies. The panel included

a Socomec changeover switch complete with isolation devices
at both supply ends.

Sector: Health






About: Knight Electrical Switchgear Ltd were asked to
supply replacement LV switchgear for the Royal

United Hospital, Bath. Restrictions caused by route
from delivery to final position as well as matching
the original panel sizes were accommodated.






Scope: 1No. Main L.V. Switchboard, 1No. Generator LV
Switchboard, BMS Connection Panel, Exiting
Switchboard replacement trips and Site installation

works.





Sector: Data Centres






About: Knight Electrical Switchgear Ltd were asked to
assist in the supply of 2 New Generator, LV power &
control panels for the new O2 Data Centre located

at Croydon.





Scope: 2No. Bespoke, Form 4 Type 6, 4000A Generator
Switchboards complete with mechanical/electrical
interlocking and device accessories wired to

terminals for the generator specialist to terminate
control cables.
