President's Prayer Calendar 2017-18

President's Prayer Calendar 2017-18

SEPTEMBER 2017 – AUGUST 2018 PRESIDENT’S

PRAYER CALENDAR

EDUCATION FOR A BETTER WORLD

The President’s Prayer Calendar Just over one year ago I began my service as President of Booth
is produced yearly for friends
supporters and community of University College and sat down to prepare my first Prayer Calendar.
Booth UC. What a year it has been! In the past 12 months we experienced our
largest incoming class in September 2016 and our largest graduating
class in April 2017. We celebrated our 35th anniversary and named
our main campus facility Waldron Building in recognition of the
leadership Commissioners John and Helen Waldron provided to see
Booth UC established in 1982. We completed significant upgrades to Waldron Building so
that we are ready for present and future needs. We have welcomed new faculty and staff and
said farewell to those who have moved on to new opportunities. We have experienced both
planned and unplanned challenges that go with significant change and in the midst of it all
God’s presence has been evident and abundant. We are grateful for God’s faithfulness and
humbled by his provision.

One year ago, I set the words of Exodus 33:15 as our focus for the Prayer Calendar and I have
chosen to maintain that focus for the coming year. These words represent my ongoing prayer
for Booth University College: Lord, “if your presence does not go with us, do not send us up
from here”.

At Booth University College, prayer is the essential foundation for all we do; prayer for our
students, faculty and staff; prayer for our plans, our hopes and dreams; prayer for our
Board of Trustees, our administration and leadership; prayer for wisdom and discernment
to be faithful stewards and scholars; prayer that lives will be changed, academic
excellence and scholarship will thrive, and that we, our students and our graduates,
will daily live out “Education for a Better World”.

I invite your continued participation in this journey through your prayers. Without God’s
blessing, wisdom and presence, we will not achieve our vision and we will not fulfill our
mission. I share this prayer calendar in the anticipation that friends of Booth UC across
Canada and internationally will faithfully act upon the needs expressed. Your prayers are
an encouragement to all of us at Booth and I thank you in anticipation of your support.

Blessings,
Dr. Marjory Kerr
President
