As the student body increased, a Student Council became a reality, once again. Flashback 4
There are nine candidates running for a variety of positions. The Council will be a
voice representing students and the activities of campus life. This initiative
addresses one of our priorities in our strategic plan, namely Enhancing the
Student Experience.

Students had more choices in academics with four new majors introduced last
fall in our Bachelor of Business Administration program. There are two additonal
courses on the horizon through the BBA program focusing on Cyber Security and
Cyber Intelligence.

Several other changes and developments are reflected in these pages, and I
invite you to read on.

As the spring season approaches we are reminded of God's sustaining love and
faithfulness, and for the change and growth He brings. Thank you for growing
with us!

Congratulations to Dr. Louis
Svenningsen; Instructional Designer
at Booth University College, who is the
lead author of a book chapter entitled:
“Personalized Learning and Online
Instruction,” in the book, Digital
Technologies and Instructional
Design for Personalized Learning.
The chapter focuses on a behavioural approach to teaching
which combines digital course design with personalized
learning. The specific design discussed in the chapter
involves the use of a learning methodology called CAPSI
(computer-aided personalized system of instruction), which is
highly adaptable for use in any course design to aid in the
development of critical or higher-level thinking in students.

Booth UC students Valentina Fae McKay and Mike Spence, members of the President's Luncheon
Council, set the framework at the student discussion forums, along with the
Dean of Students Rhonda Friesen, who facilitated them. On January 24, 2018, Booth UC President Dr. Marjory Kerr joined
some of our 2018 graduands for the first of two celebration
luncheons to recognize the students' hard work, applaud their
anticipated success and prepare them for the Convocation
ceremonies taking place this spring. A second luncheon was held
on Feb.14 with another group of grads. Booth UC is looking forward
to having its largest ever graduating class cross the stage to
receive their degrees, diplomas and certificates on April 29th
2018. The President encouraged graduands to note the
significance of this event and to reflect with gratitude on
the community of support that has enabled their achievements.
